MARLOWE. Body Scrub Soap, Exfoliating Soap Bar, Sage + Fir, 7 oz (3 Bars)

I have searched and tried a lot of men’s soaps. Important for me is moisturizing, long lasting, value, exfoliation and the scent. I personally like to smell my soap on me at least a few hours after the shower. I’ll also add my favorites without exfoliation. I’ll give a 1-5 star for each category. Marlowe Exfoliating Bar “Fresh” Scent- 5 Scent lasting time - 4 Exfoliation- 5 Lather- 4 Moisturizer- 5 Long lasting bar-5 Marlowe made me feel exceptional out of the shower. It’s January and I didn’t use lotion afterwards. The smell is like a fresh, clean woodsy scent. The exfoliation is incredible and I have sensitive white pasty skin and it felt great. I wouldn’t use it on sensitive areas though but the smell and everything with this soap is perfect. Marlowe is my choice for an exfoliating soap. Good job, Marlowe. Baxter of California (twice as expensive as Marlowe) -Scent- 4.5 -Scent lasting time- 1 -Exfoliation- 5 -Lather-5 -Moisturizer- 4.5 -Long lasting bar-4.5 Baxter of California has a wonderful scent but the scent is gone after you step out of the shower. At $19 a bar they need to do better. Wonderful lather though and long lasting bar. Cremo -Scent-4 -Scent lasting time-1 -Exfoliation-4 -Lather-3.5 -Moisturizer-4 -Long lasting bar-3 Cremo has great and unique smells but they don’t last and the scent is gone as soon as you towel off. Cremo would have me coming back if their scents lasted longer. Method Men exfoliating sea & surf bar Scent-3 Scent lasting time-1 Exfoliation-2.5 Lather-2.5 Moisturizer-2 Long lasting bar-2 Method Men was a disappointment to me and I will not purchase again. Other soaps without exfoliation that I’ve tried. -Caswell-Massey has some awesome scents. I love Newport and Greenbriar. Triple milled and long lasting, but the problem I have is that they don’t moisturize my skin well. My skin feels tight after showering. My favorite non-exfoliation soap is Pre de Provence #63 soap on a rope. A long lasting masculine scent that moisturizes wonderfully. It has great lather and is quad milled for longevity. It also can double as a weapon. 🙂 I hope this helps your search.

This soap is worth its price. I was hesitant to purchase a bar of soap for the price of getting a pack of at least regular 6 irish spring bars. I always seemed to have bumpy skin, especially on my arms and I've tried creams and regular loofah scrubbing but the soaps I used would leave my skin dry and create more bumps. This soap is great at smoothing out, with time, the rough spots on the body. My arms now feel smoother and I feel cleaner after using this soap directly on my skin, no loofah. At first, it feels a bit rough to use but you'll get used to it and you'll feel the difference. I thought I could stop and be cheap with myself and go back to the men's soaps you find at the dept stores, but nope. Once you get used this soaps after scrubbing feeling, it's difficult to go back to others. You can, use this soap every other day to let it last longer. I use it every day and I'll shower once or twice a day, depending on gym visits. With once a day use, it will last you about a month. The bar is larger than regular bar soaps and thicker. It smells great and it doesn't leave a strong scent like other men"s soaps. It's primary goal is to clean and exfoliate your body. If that is what you want, this is your soap. This soap seems to be a very popular item that it sells out fast. So I won't be upset if you don't try it, more for me.

This soap is the best exfoliating soap out there. It removes everything and leaves skin feeling new, smooth and soft. It is also sensitive skin friendly, can use on private parts and have no negative effects. The smell is not too fragrance, but it’s not a pretty boy soap. Highly recommended

I have sensitive skin. With soap, the two most common irritants for my skin are added perfumes and dyes. For over 10 years now I've used the same bar of soap with no perfumes and no dyes. That soap is going out of production and I need to find a new soap to use. For some reason I thought I'd give this over try and I don't know why I don't know anybody who's ever used it. I was concerned when I opened up the package because there is definitely a sent to the soap and it is not subtle. I was worried that it would irritate my skin, but I gave it a try. Now keep in mind I didn't use it on my face my face doesn't need more sensitive than the rest of my body but I did use it on my body. Despite my previous reactions to strong scented soaps this soap did not cause a reaction. That tells me that the ingredients that they use are pure, genuine, and quality. I don't know that I'd consider any soap to be "moisturizing", I use lotion for that. I will say that I often hear borrow soaps are very drying. This soap did not make me feel as though my skin was just moisturized after I used it, however I do not feel as though my skin was dried out. I would refer to the soap as non-drying with regards to your skin afterwards I would not refer any bar soap is "moisturizing". You've seen I mentioned the scent of the soap a couple of times. It is pretty strong but because it's quality it's not "so strong it puts carpet fresh to shame" over-powering. When I first started using the shower was filled with a pine scent. And it's still kind of smells like pine as you use it but that kind of morphs. into just kind of a crisp kind of scent Overall: The sensitive skin of my body was not irritated by the soap. I have not used it on my face nor will I use it on my face and that is because the skin on my face is much more sensitive. I will purchase the soap again and continue to use it on my body. I will be happy if in this soap I found a product with a scent that I can use. I wouldn't expect your skin to feel moisturized after using it however I wouldn't expect your skin to feel dried out either. I would recommend this to a friend.

This product is really amazing. I didn't realize that it was a "men's" product, so don't let that be a deterrent for any ladies who just want a good scrub! It is extremely exfoliating. Since I have sensitive skin, this means I use it on isolated areas and not every day. But it is so critical to have this in your bathroom! The smell is neutral, like an oatmeal bath. Personally, I would have liked a little more "bathroom refreshing" scent to it but maybe this is supposed to be on the natural side. If you are a man used to the punch of Irish spring in your bathroom, this will be a big change. I was looking for something that was a cheaper alternative to another exfoliating soap bar (which has the same amount of exfoliation) and this was it! This is half price of the brand I used to buy, so safe to say, I'm a lifer now ! Oh the bar is huge. So if anyone thinks $7 is too much for one bar of soap.... Using this product lightly, as I do, lasts me nearly a year. I would say this will last you at least 1 month with heavy use. I do believe there is a bit of "residue" left behind, but it is comparable to a bar of dove soap. Nothing sticky or tight like dial or cheap soaps. Lastly, this makes for a great gift. A strange gift, but definitely a good one. My brother has gotten an exfoliating bar of soap for Christmas two years in a row. This year and every year forward it will be a bar by Marlowe. This would would be a great gift for a husband/wife Because if one half didnt like the exfoliation, I am POSITIVE the other half would.

I like having the exfoliation built right into the soap instead of needing a separate scrub. It's convenient in the shower and leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. The bar is also a good size and feels more substantial than many regular soaps.

I'm not a very sophisticated man. Some things you do and buy are matters of habit and lack of knowledge. So..for my whole life for 42 years I've used the usual, mass produced bar soaps. Last year, by some miracle, I finally met the woman of my dreams and married. This is a remarkable woman and she has expanded my horizons in cuisine and buying products more natural and Earth friendly. So for Christmas I get a bar of some other brand of boutique style natural soap as a stocking stuffer. I was appreciative but thought I wasn't the specialty boutique soap type. Well, I was made a believer. Shower time was so much more invigorating and pleasing. It was great smelling soap that didn't dry me to the point of squeeky skin. When my skin gets dry I get itchy...no..like insanely itchy. The only problem with this particular soap was that it was ridiculously expensive and it didn't last long. I began a search through Amazon of other specialty soaps. I needed that perfect blend of a soap that could cut through the dirt and grime, smelled great, not overly drying, long lasting, and relatively inexpensive...oh yeah..and free from a bunch of harsh ingredients. After an exhaustive search I found this Marlowe 102 men's soap. This soap is everything I was looking for. Imagine a mix between a heavy duty work soap and a luxurious boutique soap in one amazing, long lasting bar. Make no mistake..this is man soap. My wife loves how I smell out of the shower. I come out clean but not all dried out and itchy. I'm on my third set..I order 2 bars at a time. Each bar lasts me 3 weeks to a month. I have a dirty job and shower every day. You don't have really anything to lose and much to gain by trying this soap. The Beam Team does not give good reviews for free products. I have not received any discounted or free product to give this a good review. I just love this soap and wanted to share my experience. Loved this great exfoliation

Not sure why some say this is like sand paper. It does what its supposed to, scrubs your skin. Lovely earthy smell. And I am female so naturally my skin is more sensitive than a male and still live this. I immediately purchased a 2nd bar.

I thought this soap was rather nice. It lathered just fine, smells excellent and has a slightly cinnamon sort of note to it. It doesn’t leave the body feeling oily and doesn’t dry out skin either which is good! The only complaint I have is how long the bar lasts compared to its price. I’m pretty sure this bar is an American product, but the bar only lasts maybe a month? Probably less depending how much one showers. I shower every day during the week since I am a welder and need to. Continuous use like this, it lasted just about a month. It would be nice if it either lasted longer (a thicker bar) or perhaps they added a second bar considering its high price point. I would recommend it for the scent and clean skin feeling, however the price is steep for the length of use you get out of the bar.

I ordered this because of the reviews and it is an essential part of my bathroom regime. I use this in addition to my standard bar soap so I have two in the shower. I use this first as a scrub and then I use a different bar of soap to clean. It's great at especially washing y feet and has a mile fragrance that's not overpowering. Simply a men's grooming essential!
