I wasn't expecting much from this entry-level Denon system. The box was slightly damaged on delivery and I was expecting mediocre sound and low volume due to some of the other reviews. I was also biased because I am fussy about sound, (I play mainly classical music, but also rock) and I really liked my previous, old JVC system which had just given up the ghost.However, I have been very pleasantly surprised, even impressed, and I do not for one second regret this purchase. The DT-1 is a good, solid, elegant unit with excellent sound quality and powerful output.My specific needs were to have a CD player that could also play MP3s, plus an Optical input so I could connect up my TV. This unit also boasts bluetooth, so you can stream from your phone, conventional AUX input, and an AM/FM radio.My only criticism (and this is minor) is that there is no Eject (open/close) button on the remote. I don't know why so many manufacturers omit this. It's such an obvious thing to have and would have been very simple for Denon to include. It's also a pity that there is only legacy AM/FM and no DAB or Internet Radio.Aside from that, I have no gripes and actually really like the unit and the sound it produces. The fact that it is covered by a 2 year manufacturers warranty also gives peace of mind.

Wanted a replacement CD player for a room where I just like to relax and maybe read.This unit came up as a suggestion on my Amazon account and I’m delighted with it. Small enough for location but a good solid machine. The speakers aren’t big but are quite heavy and give a rich sound with no vibration even at high volume. Denon gave a great name and it’s because it’s deserved

I bought this mainly because I wanted a hifi through which I could stream music via bluetooth, as my previous Denon unit didn't have that facility. It's early days but it all works well and the sound quality is good and should get even better as the system beds in. The FM aerial can be fiddly to position to get the best reception and you might need to refer to the detailed online user manual to set everything up the way you want it, as the quick guide is very basic. But the unit looks good and so far works really well.

We got this to replace an old, much loved, but finally kaput Cambridge audio system. No longer needing the full amp capacity we were looking for a system that could be used to play the TV through and also link up with Spotify on my phone. Both boxes ticked.Sound quality is great, a pain in the arse that we have to use a different remote to adjust the sound but first world problems and all that. Other reviews have mentioned noise from the cd. None that we can hear.Excellent little system for the price.

The controls to adjust bass and treble are straightforward and a beautiful crisp + deep sound can be had - speakers are great and Bluetooth is a bonus.Lack of DAB is no big deal - it’s a con anyway - sound quality from DAB is poor compared with FM. Do your research on DAB sound quality.And anyway - you can stream thousands of radio stations from an app on your phone Bluetoothed to this Denon system so it’s all good.

It arrived earlier than expected. There was nothing much involved in unpacking and setting it up. It's neat; I have the system sitting on a small cupboard in our lounge. Easy to use, but what I like most about it is the sound quality. Good value for money.

I've used Denon systems for thirty years. Although I chose a lower end of the price change, I hadn't expected a product so shabby as this. Poor speakers, very basic finish, difficult to load cds etc etc. I see it's no longer unavailable and I hope it never comes back. If what you want without fancy trimmings is a good cd player, thenpay a bit extra and go to Marantz as I have.

I have set this unit up in my conservatory and am happy with this system. It may be small but packs a punch. I have decided not to use the speaker cable that came with the unit but used my QED speaker cable. It adds that extra crispness to the sound. Good price too
