McCormick Gourmet Organic Coriander Seed, 0.87 Oz

I had no idea what this spice was. But, a recipe I wanted to try called for it. I don't always follow the recipes just exactly as written but I do feel that many people know far more than me about cooking. I'm rather new to it. I trust McCormick and try to buy organic. I also prefer glass jars. So, I put this in my list. Aroma & Appearance: When you open the container, quality ground coriander should have a warm, inviting fragrance with citrus and subtle sweet notes. The color should be a light tan to golden brown—if it looks pale or grayish, the spice may have lost potency over time. That box was checked. Flavor Intensity: Test it by adding a small pinch to a simple dish like scrambled eggs, plain rice, or a light soup. Good coriander seeds have a warm, slightly sweet flavor with citrus undertones and gentle pepper notes. It should enhance without overwhelming. That box checked. Freshness: Ground spices lose potency over time. Check the packaging date or "best by" date if visible. McCormick products typically maintain quality well due to their packaging, but fresher is always better. I put dates on all my spices. They do not last forever like some folks think. Versatility in Practice: Consider how it performs across different cuisines—try it in: A simple curry or dal A spice rub for roasted vegetables or chicken A pickling brine Mexican-inspired rice or bean dishes I prefer organic. It may cost a dab more but to me it's worth it. I like the size of this bottle. I don't like spices in real large sizes or too small. I don't want to end out discarding them on their expiration date. I do recommend this spice for your own spice rack.

I ordered these with the intention of toasting and grinding them. The taste is so much better than purchasing pre-ground coriander. Plus, it smells amazing while it's toasting!

Works well. A little more expensive than store brands but it has the perfect top - you can both sprinkle or open it up for measuring. I will buy a more expensive container and just refill later for the perfect spice top. iykyk

This McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Coriander is top-notch. It has a bright, citrusy aroma that really elevates everything from chicken rubs to curries and even roasted veggies.
