Do not buy this filter. Every time I need to top up filter with water to run the filter.

Was looking to use this to supplement the filtration of my existing external filter. But found this to be extremely noisy. Made me appreciate the silence of my external filter even more. Returned.

This product really works as per the description. The only tweak required is, the cover or cap should be a perfect fit. Since it's very loosely coupled, making some noise, else as per price point of view this is really nice alternative filter for any aquarium.

Received the product damaged. Lid was in 2 pieces and a crack on the body.

One of the top & widely popular HOB filter in the world. In my experience, its perfect for its price. Good build quality, runs very quietly & efficiently filters the water. Large space for filter medias. 3 stage filtration, good suction power of the pump & looks fabulous. Waterfall design looks cool & added advantage is that the water agitation is gentle enough for fishes as well as plants. It keeps the water clean & healthy for long time thus kind of low maintenance/less frequent water changes. Overall I can say it's one of my best buys ever.

Though a big name in the aquarium industry, I have noticed two major problems. #1: Aqua clear has a design flaw, the water just flows by without passing through all of the filter medias. So it's just like pumping water only to form a cascading effect. #2: if there is a power failure, the filter will not start again unless you crank it up by pouring water into the filter. With such a big brand name, I think the company should focus on tweaking their product so that it matches it's Goodwill. Other than these two flaws, the built quality is very good.

I know this will do a good job as it has had good reviews. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because it isn’t as quiet as most people say the impeller is a bit noisy but not that noisy to put you off buying. I’m hoping with time it may settle. I have heard some people use fda approved grease and that seems to work, but I’m going to leave it and see what happens. If so you might void your warranty.ive has an all pond and seemingly does the same job for less money. £38 for this is too much for what it is. Well designed but a bit noisy.

I have a 10 gallon aquarium that used to have an old tetra filter. It worked great and we have had it for a while now. But recently it started to slow down and after several cleanings it still wouldn't work at full speed. I though about replacing the prop or the entire motor but read up on different filters and found aquaclear. The main selling point, beside positive reviews, was the efficiency and low cost to maintain. There was a lot of debris floating around in the tank since I haven't had a filter running at full speed in a month or so. After I set this filter up and placed it in the tank with a couple hours or so I checked it out and the water was crystal clear. I had to rinse out the sponge from how much stuff it collected since there was a lot floating around, After placing it back in again and after another hour or so the water is pretty much spotless. So far it's a great filter and super quiet. I can't hear it running at all. The on thing this has an upper hand on compared to tetra is the quietness. Tetra's, when brand new are very quiet but these are silent. Maybe time will be a difference but it seems like a great quality filter. Also, it should be noted that some say tetra's are more expensive to run. This is not true. If you rinse out the filter cartridge and replace the carbon with the bulk carbon tubs you can buy it is cheaper than replacing the entire cartridge. This one may be a tad cheaper since the sponge will almost never need replacing, but tetra's are very cheap also. Aquaclear just beat's it out on quietness and I like the setup from sponge to carbo to bio more.

L'ho preso per utilizzarlo sul 24 litri e va perfettamente. La pompa è silenziosa e efficiente. Sono inclusi il filtro meccanico in spugna, una bustina con il carbone e una con i cannolicchi ad alta efficienza per il filtro biologico. Consigliata per chi deve sostituirla sul Fluval Edge e per qualsiasi altra applicazione dove si cerca un filtro esterno a cascata compatto, facile da gestire e esteticamente gradevole.
