Works Great!
I bought this to replace an old FT-817 CAT cable that is no longer supported by Windows. Windows 10 immediately recognized this cable, and I didn't have to install any drivers. I connected it up to my 20 year old FT-817 and I was able to program it with no issues. Nice cable.

Perfect 8-pin DIN to USB Cable
Ordered this cable to control my Yaesu FT-817 using a laptop running Ham Radio Deluxe software. Worked perfectly as soon as I hooked it up. It is well-made and is perfectly compatible with Windows 10.

Frequent connection losses and errors, not trustworthy or worth the grief
Here's what you need to know. The first red flag was that the 8-pin connector was a bit tight going into my Yaesu. I figured I wouldn't be taking it in and out often, so I could live with that. I did not have any issues getting the drivers loaded on Windows 11. Everything seemed to be ok, until I went to set it up in WSJT-X to control my 15 year-old son's Yaesu FT-897D. Then I started getting all kinds of errors when I would try to test the CAT function. I went through every setting on the 897, and then through all of the settings in WSJT-X, then all of the settings in Device Manager. I made sure my son had the EXACT same setup that I use when I bought him his rig so I could ensure I could make everything work for him. Yaesu FT-897D, Signalink USB, etc.. Finally, I was able to get it working using the same settings I had tried at least 3x before. It worked for a while, then the errors started popping up again. To troubleshoot, I did what I probably should have done much sooner, and grabber the EZSync cable from my rig, and tried it on his. No problems. Put the Letotech back on, and right back to the errors. For no more than I saved by buying this instead of the EZSync brand, I will just pay the extra and have a CAT cable that I know works correctly. It's sad. There's really not much to these cables aside from a FTDI chip and an 8-pin connector. I could have made one myself for less, but I wanted something more professional looking.

Cable works.
Was able to connect to FT-100D and FT-857D. Ft-100D connection should be set to 4800 baud and FT-857D should be set to 9600 baud. Cable works correctly.

Works!
Works like it should and came rather quickly. I purchased two just because I’m a little rough on these things and it’s easy to misalign the pins believe it or not. Check them as you plug them in very slowly.
