My likes: no tension fit, no step over bar on the floor, secured to walls. This gate does take much more time to install, you need to put screws into the wall. They include a template to make mounting about as easy as they can, but it definitely takes more time to install than the tension fit gates. It’s a lot more stable, though. The 2 year old pulled a tension gate down. This one stays put. This one was a larger gate as well, our opening was the maximum width listed for other products. I was unable to use them, they wouldn’t quite span the opening. This one is wider. It works smoothly and shuts securely. One thing was that the open gate tends to swing out and come to rest partially blocking the hall. I put a “cow magnet” in a wooden block and attached that to the wall. A cow magnet is relatively large and not too strong. You do not want to use small or ultra strong magnets around children. Besides being choke hazards, 2 strong swallowed magnets can stick together inside a child pinching intestine. The strong magnets pinch off the blood supply to the trapped tissue and the pinched then perforates requiring emergent life saving surgery. The cow magnet is too big to swallow and it is strong enough to secure the gate open without exposing the child to the hazards of the strong magnets. Cow magnets are used for cattle, they sit in the stomach and then trap bits of swallowed iron/steel such as staples and nails.

This is an excellent gate. I bought it in 2011 and it's still going strong. It is very easy to install and I am a female. Follow the directions and you'll be good. We use this gate to keep our dogs from coming into the garage though the back door. I installed it to the outside frame of the door so when we open it the dogs don't run in. Also I installed it to the frame using drywall screws to withstand the elements and my dogs. In other words, the way we have it installed the weather is a factor - the rain, snow, sleet hits it all the time. It withstands the weather elements well. We like having the door open to get a breeze through it. But this gate has withstanded 4 dogs one of which is 80 pounds and it's still standing strong. Also, my 80 pound dog does jump and lean on this gate on a daily basis. Since I bought it in 2011 here is how it is holding up: - Under weather does awesome. After 4 years of outside use it appears a few of the screws have some rust (the side which gets the most rain, etc.) but the gate still has all the original coating. No scratches from dogs so obviously the coating is very thick and high quality. The paint looks A1 for 4 years. - To open the gate: you put pressure on it and slide. It take a while to get use to but overall does great. With it being in the elements it has had it's moments getting stuck but we greased it and then it works great again. - Also, the gate does swing both ways which makes it great! - When installing the gate: the gate itself does slide bigger and smaller to fit your doorway easily and then screws in the middle prior to installing ... very easy. Overall it looks and works the same as it did the day we installed it. No plans on replacing it anytime soon. Very happy I got it. This is a great gate. It stops the (tall, powerful, destructo) baby/ toddler right in her tracks. I work from home most days, in the basement, and this gate blocks off the top of the stairs. My baby girl will routinely come to the top of the stairs, grab the gate, shake and yell like a caged gorilla (it's really pretty cute). The gate rattles a little, but really doesn't budge. I have no concerns about her tossing herself down the stairs at all. Install was pretty straight forward, I'm a regular hand man, only took 20m. I used 3" wood screws to sink the hinge side into the door frame and studs. I did build a little block bump out for the latch side, so that it will swing across the jam (and not over the stairs). Pros: Easy to install Keeps it simple, no worries about fancy latches breaking Solid, not going anywhere Won't swing out over the stairs once installed properly Cons: A little noisy, because of the design the whole gate lifts up to open (that's good), but my daughter knows the sound and she'll wake up sometimes (from across the house) when she hears it First time user get confused on how to open it (this isn't a con so much as it is funny to watch)

I needed this angle mount gate because the stairs that go to the basement are kind in an odd shape for a regular gate. I was missing a piece when I received it but I called the manufacturer's number and they shipped it right away. It takes some time to figure out how to assemble but it is not that hard in the end. It took me about 2 to 3 hours to have it ready. Basically, you just have to rotate one piece in order to be able to use it in an angle. It is such a simple solution and I cannot believe all other gates don't have this feature. I am really happy with this gate, it works very well so far.

Love the gate! Very sturdy ! It’s hard to install a bit ! Take your time and don’t loose patience it is worth it in the end!

Résultat: regreté mon achat quand j’ai ouvert la boîte Les instructions sont loin d’être clair: plus rapide de faire du essaie erreur... Morceaux neufs endommagés: rends le montage désagréable Bref si vous avez une autre option d’achat, prenez l’autre option, ça va vous éviter une mauvaise journée

I need to push it up with my foot and lift from both sides or it shifts. Needs 2 hands to open. Unfortunately for angle banister it’s he only option I found but at least the material is sturdy.
