Fun to buld, Fun to watch.
I love mechanical gear movement, and this clock delivers on that. Its simple enough to put together, and it runs rather well. And I was surprised to find that it keeps rather good time, At least to around 4 to 5 hours that I have tested it.It can be a bit testy about how level it is to work properly. And it needs to be wound fully to have the power to tick away. So far it goes for about 3 to four hours before the pendulum gets stuck, despite the spring still having charge in it. But perhaps it needs to wear in a bit more, or be more aligned. And to me its more of a novelty to watch rather than something to rely on telling time.So I would recommend this. Just take your time and follow the instructions carefully. And wax the gears real good. Oh, and for the wight that goes in the pendulum, You may need to sand the slot it goes in a bit, and wax the metal and wood walls. Make sure the wight can go up and down. When I first put the wight in, it was stuck thus would not be adjustable.

3-D wooden puzzle clock
Great fun and functional for the price. This is first 3-D puzzle I assembly. Wound the key the clock started ticking and ran for about 10 hours. Surprising only loss about minute during first wound cycle. Instructions could use enlargement pictures on hand assembly as two different plastic bushings are used.

Short run time, otherwise a great kit
Locked in for several days during a quarantine, this was a good way to keep busy. It took me 2 or 3 days to finish, though I probably could've done it in one day if I had stuck with it. So here's my breakdown:Cons:- Short run time. Wound all the way up, the clock seems to only want to run for a few hours before stopping. I wound it as far as I dared and even stripped the ratchet. Fortunately there is a spare ratchet piece in the kit, and now I know not to overwind it. This is what keeps me from giving it 5 stars.- A bit touchy to get it running at first. At first I couldn't get it to start running at all, then only for a few minutes, and finally after a little fiddling it ran for several hours. It seems that the more I run it, the more it wears in and runs a bit longer each time. Can't complain too much; I've never built a clock before and was expecting less than I got.- Instructions are mostly pictures, which is good, but the FAQ and troubleshooting section are written in poorly-translated English, so when you run into problems you're kind of on your own. There are, however, QR-coded video links throughout the instruction book to help you along.Pros:- Beautiful looking clock. I am impressed with the aesthetic design of it. Since I'm guessing concentric shafts are beyond the scope of these kits, the hour and minute hand are on separate shafts, and arranged such that they look really nice, and the "face" of the clock has nice etchings on it. It also takes up a fair amount of space on a shelf or mantle piece.- Well-engineered kit, very well-made and pretty trouble-free to assemble. Complicated enough to be a bit of a challenge, but if you go slow and follow the instructions it comes together nicely.- Fairly accurate, at least for as long as I have seen it run it has kept pretty good time.- Great way to learn how a real clock works. All the gears are visible, right out in the open, as is the pendulum escapement mechanism that regulates it and after building it and seeing it run up close it's clear what a great invention the old fashioned clock was centuries ago.Bottom line is that this is a fun kit to build and I would gladly do it again or give one as a gift, but on the other hand, unless I figure out how to make it run for at least a day and a half I don't see how it could be used for daily timekeeping. Maybe somebody knows how to modify it with a longer-lasting power source.

Excellent product for clock lovers
If you follow the instructions precisely then be prepared to fudge it just a little when done, you will have a working clock. Mine has been running now for 3.5 hours with a steady even beat after some adjustments. The instructions, while initially cryptic, are excellent. The parts separated from the plywood brilliantly with minimal cleanup. It took me about 3 and a half hours to complete the build and the build process is quite logical. Once completed, I ran it without the pendulum in place to make sure the gears were free to turn, I then inserted the pendulum into the escapement gear and off it went. It wasn't perfect yet. I had to adjust the plastic grommet positions on the position of the pendulum itself on the hanger. Once I had all gears aligned parallel to each other and running free I gave it a partial wind and it ran for 90 minutes on a partial wind, after which I wound it completely. It makes a lovely sound, being wood on wood movement. If I were to build another I would apply the paraffin to all the gear teeth just to make them a little slipperier. Great product.

Fun to assemble, great for the price
The media could not be loaded. Took me roughly 4 hours to assemble, no experience with wooden models. Some of the pieces are fragile, so it's necessary to take it slowly and double check that each step is completed correctly, because it's difficult to get attached pieces apart without breaking them.On the first wind, it ran for about 6½ hours and kept great time. I didn't use the included wax at all. It's too short of a power reserve to be a practical clock, but it's fun.

Challenging puzzle but not much of a clock
Instructions and quality of the wooden pieces is very good. It’s a challenge to assemble. However the clock is very temperamental. You have to balance it perfectly for it to run for any length of time. For me the worst part is even if you can get it to run, it will only go for 4 to 6 hours on a single wind. For my second project I ordered another brand of a 3D puzzle clock that has a quartz movement. The end product is better looking and keeps time very accurately

Best product of this type. Stay with ROKR!
This is how I am filling time during covid 19. I have tried stronger other companies that are not this good. Stick with ROKR! They are excellent! The instructions are great. Any time I made a mistake I could look at the instructions and see where I had gone wrong and easily fix it. (I was going too fast and not being careful.) I will be truthful, with the clock I had limited expectations but it WORKS GREAT! I am as surprised as anyone! I just finished it last night. It ran all night but the time is off. I adjusted it and I will let it sit for a while to see if it is perfect. Fun stuff really great. I can see this would be fun with a child with patience. An older teen could certainly do it alone.
