Easy to read, bright digital display
This weather station comes with an AC adapter, an outdoor remote sensor, and instruction booklet. Set-up is easy, but may be challenging to some without the instruction booklet. The weather station has a colorful, bright display that’s very easy to read. It shows time and temperature, date, weather forecasts, both indoor and outdoor humidity levels, and more. Alerts can be customized for temperatures that exceed or fall below your set limits. The casing feels a little on the cheap plastic side, but it looks good and the feel is irrelevant once it’s in position. The accuracy of the outdoor temperature readings depends largely on where you position the remote sensor. I originally installed it on the southeast side of my house, but the temperature showed about 10°F higher than the weather app on my phone. After moving it to the north side of my house, the temperature display was within 3 degrees with the weather app, which is acceptable for my needs. The variance probably is due to the differences between the weather station’s feeding my weather app and the exact location of the remote sensor.

Highly recommend this weather station.
We love this weather station because is it is a nice size but not too big. It is bright and colorful which makes it very easy to see and read. It has the day, date & time in the center of the screen. It gives indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity levels. Living in FL makes this a very helpful feature. You can also set alarms for when temperatures and humidity reaches a certain level. We aren't using the feature. You can plug this in or use the battery feature. I highly recommend this weather station.

It serves the purpose
It works just fine and seems to be accurate. I apparently misunderstood the product description as I was trying to replace a battery powered unit, but this one has a battery backup function only and requires its plug in power supply for full operation. The operating instructions could use a bit more detail too.

Easy to see/read
The different colors on the La Crosse… makes it easy to see the information.

Great display, works excellent when set up properly.
The La Crosse Technology 308-1414W looked great when received. Read the instructions, plugged in power supply, installed batteries, and waited, temps never changed, both displays read same temp 68.7 degrees with base unit sitting in house and remote transmitter outside (40 degrees) I waited two days to see if unit would correct itself, but it never changed. I did some online research and read more about the unit. The online instructions go into much more detail, I recommend reading them over the small printed instructions it come with. A lot of technical information is left out of the small printed version. I did a recommended factory reset, which takes almost two hours to complete start to finish. After following reset instructions to a tee, the unit now works perfectly. Now it’s just a matter of time (up to seven days or longer) for the barometric readout to stabilize and become accurate. I was expecting this weather station to work right out of the box, but it does take some time to get it set up properly. I really like the look of the main unit display, the screen is bright and can be read from across the room (35 ft) Setup of time, date, and year is straightforward. It can be programmed for high and low temp alarms and also as an alarm clock if you choose. Overall it’s a great looking, functional unit and well worth the cost. I’m already looking into replacing this unit with one that has the wind speed and direction along with a rain gauge. Just follow the instructions carefully and this unit will work great! The picture is the actual unit reading in real time when taken, it’s not an overlay or display shot.

Looks good but……..
Unfortunately, it is not very accurate. In spite of us having placed the sensor out of direct sunlight and placing it in a cover device that the manufacturer sells the temperature and humidity are rarely accurate. I can say an odd thing has occurred, the indoor humidity sensor after almost 2 years of being stuck on 29% suddenly started working. The level is within the range of a more technically superior sensor. I have no clue why it suddenly started working but I am happy it did. None of these devices are really easy to set up. Unfortunately, there are always a lot of steps to follow before you can be assured that you have it setup properly. One thing I do like about it is the screen is easy to read and gives you its inaccurate information at a glance. Other brands could learn from this unit in this regard. It is a part of the appeal of the device that got me to purchase it. Another criticism of the device is that it can be raining outside and yet the unit indicates that it is merely cloudy. It is often true of the reverse. The unit indicates that it is raining when in fact it is cloudy and no rain is predicted. Another criticism of this device and thus far every other brand is that the actual screen size is small because they make the case so big. This is cheap technology and there is no reason for them scrimping on actual screen size.

Very good so far
I am a science geek and own a lot of thermometers. I have an accurate indoor thermometer next to this one to compare the indoor readings. And I have an accurate wired outdoor probe thermometer to compare the outdoor readings. I also use the Weatherbug 6 portable for windows application from which I can check 5 local stations. Weatherbug 6.0 is way better than the WB 10. WB 6 shows all the weather info in one window. And it shows temps to tenths of a degree. Which WB 10 does not. I use AdMuncher so I see zero ads. What is great about WB is it shows live temps when you mouse over the app. Here is a screen cap of v10 and v6 [...] v6 is on the left. v10 is terrible as you can see. Look at v6 on the left. Right above the wind speed is the update time. When you move your mouse over this area, it updates. If you keep move the mouse back and forth constanly, you get updated temps every 2 seconds! You can still get v6 at Cnet! It is 6.07 which is what I have. It may try to install toolbars during install. Careful. You can uncheck them download.cnet.com/WeatherBug/3640-2381_4-10551032-14.html?v=1 So anyway, as far as I can tell, this La Cross is very accurate. At least mine is. I have a lot to compare to. I don't know if you had 2 of these whether they would read the same. Accuracy may vary with temperature too. It may be more accurate at certain temp ranges than others. Best to use lithium batteries for the remote sensor. Especially in cold weather. Make sure that the sensor is mounted in the shade and is not exposed to rain. It is water resistant, not water proof. Mine has never lost sync. It shows full signal. Sensor is about 25ft away. I am still trying to figure out how often the remote send a signal. I know it is at least every three minutes. Mine has not connect to the time server yet. It probably can't where it is positioned. It is a shortwave band and would connect better at night. I don't like the forecast box. I wish it would just report the barometric pressure. So to sum it up, I am very satisfied with this. Accuracy is very good. This is the most accurate wireless thermometer I have ever owned. Display is very large and colorful. Horizontal (side) viewing angles are very good. Vertical viewing angles are not good. If anyone has a question, feel free to leave a comment. I will probably update and revise this review a few times.

Great product but be careful
Absolutely fantastic weather station. Easy to set up, including the outdoor sensor but make sure you also buy an outdoor housing for it to keep it weather proofed. Only one drawback currently is that it has what under investigation seems to be a US mains pinned plug to connect to the mains with. Afterallthistime were great with a much speedier delivery than even that estimated at ordering. They were also very prompt at answering my mains power query but in the end suggested just 2 adapter plugs, one was a standard UK adapter for plugging extra things in and the other was a EU adapter plug, which as it seems to be a US plus as per photo I sent them, wasn't a lot of help. After a final try at getting some help from them following which they stopped replying, so I purchased a US to UK power adapter, which hasn't done the trick. La Crosse is a Michigan company which I have contacted to hopefully help me as Afterallthistime don't seem to know what they are selling in detail. Lastly if La Crosse can't give me a solution I will continue to just run on batteries as it is still a great machine. Seem from the start to be very accurate, even though La Crosse says it takes a few weeks to get forecasts fully running

Great unit for temps, humidity and many other features
- add 2 batteries for the wireless outside sensor - add 3 batteries for the main unit - plug in the AC power adapter, 5V If you only use the batteries, the unit powers down its brightness after 10 seconds and you can hardly see anything. You must plug it in and also add 3 batteries as backup and then you can adjust the brightness. I love this unit. Accurate temperature and humidity readings. Love you can set it your time zone, day light savings and its an atomic based clock. I wanted something new and colorful and not cheap. This delivers. Update: I've had this weather station for 8.5 years and it finally started failing. It was the last year or two having remote sensor issues, changing the batteries multiple times a year, re syncing multiple times and the battery display is always low now. So I bought a new remote sensor. I shopped around and new weather stations haven't changed much in 8.5 years. FINAL UPDATE: It wasn't the new outdoor sensor or new batteries. The base unit receiving the outdoor sensor signal stopped working properly and now has died. I will be buying another station because it lasted me about 7 years with no issues. The last 1.5 years the base unit wasn't receiving the outdoor sensor signal properly, syncing didn't help and new batteries didn't help. I could be 10 feet from the base unit with the sensor and it went from 5 full bars down to 0 bars. If I did a sync scan, it came back at 12'C and the temp wouldn't change with low battery. The wireless receiver on the base unit started to fail after 7 years and is done after 8.5 years. Not too shappy and I will buy again.
