Divided into eight clear chapters, the book starts with an in-depth study on measuring and body shaping, before examining fabric technology and sartorial terminology. It describes a wide range of skirts and trousers, both for women and men, from the basic to the highly elaborate. Review: Better than a pattern library - This is a great book if you are somewhat experienced with pattern drafting and need a reference for how to scale and draft different style elements onto a sloper. If you find yourself often buying patterns just to use one or two specific style features, try this book series instead. You could also draft patterns for entire garments just using this book and your measurements, which it shows you how to take (though in less detail than really necessary for a beginner). I will definitely be getting the other books in the series. Review: Easy and simple - If you have some sewing knowledge and want to improve this book is for you.

In metric, mostly features women's fashion
I purchased this book because it's in the title that there are patterns for both men and women. The first 200 pages are patterns for the typical female pattern block (e.g. with darted bodice), and only the last 40 or so pages cover a male block with very basic patterns. The male section felt lacking when it came to discussions of fitting, size variation, and frankly creativity compared to the comprehensive section on women's fashion. If you're looking for a drafting book using metric units and focusing on feminine fashion for stereotypical female bodies, this book seemed like it would be very good. I returned the book though because the masculine fashions (for any shaped body) were quite limited.

Excellent!
I bought all 3 in the series. They're well written and very instructive.

tremendous resource
This series is the best that I have. It is not simplistic and requires some basic insight into garment construction, but it has hundreds of pattern templates that can be used to create custom garments. This group of three books are the best value.

Not so simple to follow
This is strictly a patternmaking book. No tips on how to put anything together. It's assumed the reader already knows. This book has many easy, though very ordinary patterns to follow, but also a fair few that would be too difficult to follow. There are better and easier to follow books out there on pattern drafting. This book is for the more advanced pattern drafter. Some weird designs here too. Overall, a very ordinary book.
