Lensmate Quick-Change Filter Adapter Kit 52mm for Panasonic ZS200, TZ200, TX2

Wanted to use polarizer and neutral density filters for landscapes and waterscapes using my ZS200. This does the job. Easy to install precisely centered with a provided ring, Hopefully the adhesive will be secure for a few years.52mm filter size seems very good to avoid vignetting.The filter attachment part mounted to the camera barely changes the camera thickness or weight. With the removable filter mount part, plus a filter, and the provided lens cap, the camera still fits in my small LowePro bag.

I was skeptical of this adaptor staying put with adhesive and sure enough, it did not. Fell off after five days. I meticulously followed the installation instructions, but had the same result as some other reviewers. Rather than having the hassle of returning it and getting another that I think would probably just fall off also, I super glued it on. So far, so good and I suppose it’s on there permanently now.Maybe I should ask for my money back for the removal tool…

The so-called instructions are only "tips" recommending to attach (or remove) the filters on the threaded ring while it's not attached to the camera. That's it. Oh... They do say how to use the removal tool, to remove the part that sticks on the camera lens, then it'll be worthless because the adhesive will be compromised. There's NOTHING about how to install it. So now I need to pay $10 (plus shipping and tax) to order another adapter ring. I then watched YouTube video (to late) that truly showed how to install it. I guess I'll spend more money and hopefully it'll work this time.

Used this with a Panasonic ZS200 compact travel zoom camera primarily to add a polarizer filter for outdoor photos. Holds filter securely and attaches filter to camera without undue stress on the lens mechanism, which is important on a lightweight travel zoom camera. After initial installation (following all directions very carefully - have used a similar system on another travel zoom in the past), found out that when the camera retracts the lens barrel, there is just a small amount of pressure against the filter mount from the camera body when the filter was in place, tending to pop it off. As I was heading out on a trip to Egypt where dropping the filter/mount into dust and sand would be a real problem, I added 3 small dots of super-glue to the inner mount rim to further secure mount ring to lens barrel end. Worked great for the whole trip, and was very secure. Could avoid the issue by removing filter each time before retraction, but then you loose the protection of the camera lens from dust and debris and inconvenience of reattaching filter each time.

Seemed to be good, no vignetting. However, after a couple of weeks it just fell off when I took it out of my bag, didn't catch on anything. I was very careful to attach it according to the instructions, using the alcohol pad etc. I used on of these kits previously on another model camera and it's still attached. Too many hoops and dollars to jump through to get a partial return. A 100% failure rate on this one, I'm afraid. The problem with this type of product is that it works for a while, just long enough so you can't return it. Buy it if you're a gambler.

Adhesive not strong enough, keeps falling off, what do I do now? (And yes Iremoved the vinyl protector from the adhesive before I installed it)
