It works!!! If you have tried everything else, this is your answer
It absolutely works for constipation and bowel issues!!! Doubted if this would help my autistic adult sister-in-law with her constant bowel problems. We have tried everything to help with her constipation and pooping hard balls a little at a time. From food to yogi and pre and probiotics... I was absolutely shocked that the first time she used this with her legs up she, for the first time in 10 years, had a full bowel movement!! I was so happy that such a simple thing could help her vs taking meds or adding to fiber that could make it worse. She also gags at swallowing to many natural drink concoctions to help her go. I do not know if it was the sitting position that caused her not to fully eliminate but the Squatty Potty solved that!! No more stomach aches or constipation or hemorrhoids. We have had it a few weeks and every bowel movement has been good size and complete BM's. Sounds gross but pooping is how we remove toxins, so I am raving about this seat! So, if you are struggling with bowel issues and looking for relief, this is it! We still feed her healthy food but even if she has a pizza and junk food day she is still having regular bowels! I cannot say enough about it. Many people have confessed to me they struggle and hopefully they will use this to get relief themselves without drastic measures.

Should have bought sooner
It took me a long time before I purchased the Squatty Potty. I just didn't get it. Couldn't see the point. However, I did finally get one and I am so glad I did. I am not sure how it does, what it does, but it works. Glad I made the purchase. Note: It is sturdy, good quality, and fit up against the toilet well. Give it a like if this helps.

Oh what an amazing relief it is!
It’s is sturdy, comfortable, no assembly required and slides neatly under the toilet when not in use. Easy to clean, good quality. Some say, Purchase accordingly to the height of your toliet. High toliet use 9”stool, Low toliet use 7” stool. I recommend the 9” regardless because it lifts my “Knees Higher” and gives me a better flow with my bowel movement. It unkinks the colon! Be patient, it takes a little time to get use to it. Keep using it, trust me. Your first bowel movement will be amazing. You will feel an amazing sensation of Relief! I was thinking this is the position small kids in diapers do. The squat position with knees up to chest when they poop in their diapers. It’s like when using this stool, with your “Knees Higher”, it unkinks the colon and opens the flow of your poop. You will feel amazing using this stool! I use it everytime I need to have a bowel movement. I highly recommend using this particular stool and NO other. It’s worth the price, trust me! I wish I’ve known about this stool sooner in my life because I struggle with constipation. With me using the 9” Squatty Potty, it’s a big positive change for me. Once you see how much it helps with the flow of your bowel movements, it’s like literally training your body to have a better bowel movement. “Knees Higher” is the key to a better flow of the bowel movements. The colon is like cleansed out and it’s a great feeling to experience this using the 9” Squatty Potty. My husband only tried using this stool a very few times and said it didn’t help him. It didn’t help him because he simply wasn’t patient and gave up too soon after very few times using it. I did this review in hopes that it will help everyone to feel a Big Relief in their colon as much as it’s helped me.

This Day in History...
...I lost minutes of reading time but gained back years of my life. I know that most of my product reviews can be considered to be somewhat “tongue in cheek,” but good reader, if you would kindly indulge me a moment of your valuable time, I would like to share with you my review of this product while offering what I hope you’ll agree is some interesting trivia about how western society got to the point where we actually forgot how to “crap.” Thomas Crapper (baptised 28 September 1836; died 27 January 1910) was an English plumber whose industriousness created the Thomas Crapper & Co in London, England. Essentially Thomas Crapper installed plumbing for toilets and built the very units his company installed. The man held nine patents, three of them for “water closet” improvements such as the floating “ballcock” and the “man-hole” cover. The slang term, “to take a crapper” actually came from laborers quoting the name of the company tastefully emblazoned on his toilets. Mr. Crapper was deeply concerned about the quality of life in England and wanted to improve general health and cleanliness within people’s living spaces. In other words, he understood that chamber pots and ill-routed plumbing presented serious health issues. Thomas Crapper was also a deeply devout man who hoped that his more comfortable “seated designs” would cajole his fellow Englishmen into spending a bit of time perusing through the thundering diction of the Olde King James Bible. While the majority of physicians at the time more or less agreed that his heart was certainly in the right place, they nonetheless felt that his buttocks was not, as most of the civilized world squatted for good reason as sitting makes forcing out a healthy bowel movement time-consuming and difficult. At the same time, Anglican bishops felt that associating one of life’s necessary evils with the Good Book was not only disrespectful, but could and did result in some rather unsavory individuals using certain pages in a manner which the Americans availed themselves to with the much broader and far more absorbent pages of their Sears Roebuck catalogs. Nonetheless, cleaner and more fragrant airs prevailed as Mr. Crappers toilets drowned most of the malodorous odors in the plumbing design and thus, the longer bathroom breaks due to the odd sitting convention were considered reasonably justifiable. To his credit, the man had actually included a wooden stool for the feet much like this fine product which I’ve purchased here. However, his item lacked the rubber base points for stability and the curved aesthetics which allow this one to be conveniently pushed underneath in the front, and so his footstool was considered a tripping hazard which took up too much room and could be outright discarded or perhaps be better served as an end table to the family throne which could then hold books and additional toiletries. Thomas Crappers product changed the course of Western Societal development whilst unknowingly championing the growth of a robust hemorrhoidal cream industry. His product also explains why pages of the average Bible were redesigned to be thinner and more delicate than the printings of other books. It was to create an inconvenience in order to discourage a horrific use best not described in picturesque detail here. Good people, how can I best describe how surprisingly effective this footstool is... Let’s use our imaginations to revisit English history for a moment in order to paint a proper picture in harmony with the general subject matter you’ve patiently read so far... I’m convinced that if Britain’s enemies had possessed this footstool, it would have destroyed the Empire. For if the Spanish and the French had employed this footstool in their warships during the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar, they could simply have stuck their rear ends out their gun ports, leaned forward and pushed extensively, launching so violent a cannonade of their diets of hard biscuits and salted meats that it would have reduced the British fleet to nothing but shattered timbers. Such a loss would no doubt have also made Admiral Horatio “Hornblower” Nelson’s death on the high seas far less dignified. This footstool quite literally weaponizes your colon. So, five stars. If I may offer just one bit of advice... Purchase this item along with a stout toilet plunger should you underestimate this product’s effectiveness on your “exuberance” and overestimate your flushing abilities. I’m speaking from experience. Thank you for reading this review.

Terrific, but may not fit small bathrooms (measurements here, plus a genius solution)
First, this actually does do everything it says. You truly will not go back to pooping in a non-squat position. You poop faster and cleaner than ever before. There are two negatives, one of which is why we returned ours. One small negative is the chimney effect. If your bottom sealed with the toilet seat before, it won't any more because you're squatting, so you may get more of a direct waft than you're used to. As a negative this is minor, not worth knocking off any stars but worth mentioning in case you're particularly squeamish. Or prone to launching splashers, in which case you may want to lean back a bit. BUT - and this is why we ended up returning it - the footprint is really rather large. I don't mean the height: the 9" height was fine for us (our toilet is a "comfort height" - about 16" to the bottom of the bowl rim). But the Squatty Potty is a fairly bulky thing. Our house has small bathrooms by today's standards. Our master bathroom - a 3/4 bath - measures 8' 5" by 4' 4", including the shower enclosure. HERE ARE SOME KEY MEASUREMENTS NOT IN THE DESCRIPTION: The Squatty Potty extends from your toilet pedestal about 3-1/2" in front and about 6" on each side. Note that your toilet pedestal is probably significantly smaller than the bowl dimensions. But, even so, in our bathroom, we'd have to get rid of the wastebasket and scale, which live one atop the other between the toilet and the cabinet. Plus, with two of us getting ready in the morning or evening, we found the added item underfoot was cumbersome: we need every half-inch of footing we can get. In our main bathroom, the bigger full bath, with the Squatty Potty in "storage mode" (tucked as far into the pedestal as possible), the bathroom door whacks into it and it hinders access to the bath. So we reluctantly gave up on the Squatty Potty. But not on squatting! Here's a possible solution for small bathrooms! (I'm a genius!) Buy three small wastebaskets that: (a) fit your space and height needs and (b) nest together and (c) are stable when turned upside-down. Use the top one as a wastebasket. Drill holes in the bottoms of the other two to make it easier to separate them while on sitting on the toilet. When the need arises, pull off the bottom two containers and invert them for instant squat footrests, conveniently reached, easily positioned, and taking up exactly zero room in a tiny bathroom. I even found this homemade solution to be more-convenient for, um, leaning forward to wipe. I bought three made-in-the-USA wastebaskets at Walmart for about a buck apiece. They're 1.5-gallon capacity, 10.13" x 7.5" x 9.75". They're about 9 3/4" high, but in use they're not noticeably higher than the 9" Squatty Potty. If you need the 7" height, or any other height really, I saw other nesting containers and tubs there of every dimension. Simply place your existing wastebasket inside two nested storage containers of the height you want: just make sure the containers fit your space and your wastebasket fits inside them. Either way, this is also a relatively stealthy solution, so there's nothing to hide or move when guests come over. IMPORTANT! Note that you shouldn't stand or even put any appreciable weight on an inverted trash can or storage bin, so if you need a weight-bearing solution AND you have a small bathroom you'll need to think up something else. (You can do it! I bet you're a genius too!)

I SUFFERED MANY YEARS- UNTIL THIS! My Favorite Shark Tank Item Purchase!
I have waited (albeit only one month) and that month has served me very well. I am 45 and since I was a young girl I can remember going into the doctor and them asked me several questions. They would start with "when was your last menstrual period?" That always ends fine, then they'd ask, "When was the last time you had a bowl movement? When I would tell them, "about a week or two ago" they were, of course, shocked. But, it wasn't until my mid-twenties when I really realized, after hearing and seeing the shock and concern over and over again, after many, many years that I realized... THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE! THIS IS NOT NORMAL! I used to watch boyfriends sit and poop and I did envy them. It wasn't until my thirties that I even tried to do anything about it. I tried what I knew to "fix-it." I ate figs, drank prune juice, ate plenty of greens and lettuce, all of that did nothing for me. So, I resorted to laxatives, but those were "messy" and the stomach cramps were something I could do without. So, from my 30s until I found Squatty Potty at 45, I just took laxatives when I felt constipated, but couldn't get anything to come out. I am now 45-yo. I purchased this "dumb accessory" - Squatty Potty...about two months ago and I cannot tell you how much this simple little item has changed my bathroom experience. It's hard to talk about poop (again, no pun-intended.) With the Squatty Potty I feel that when a "poop" is about to come bout it "slides on out" when I use my Squatty Potty. That may seem crass to some but really, it's poop were talking about, so, let's just check ourselves and get real. I feel that my bowl movements are EASILY MORE REGULAR and to be honest - that's about as easy as I can make this. If I feel the need to poop, unlike before when I would sit... and sit... and sit... I now find that I sit and (if I feel there is poop that needs to come out) I pull out the Squatty Potty with my feet and almost 100% of the time it comes out, at least something does. This is compared to years of sitting on the toilet with MOSTLY nothing coming out or when something finally does come out I have a numb butt. I bought this product because I realized a long time ago that putting my feet up on something (I used to use my Newspaper/Magazine Rack) and I realized it helped, however I only used that in dire times. The easy and good thing about the Squatty Potty is, I don't need sever times to induct the pooping session. I pull it out (with my feet) at the time when I have a hint of poop that needs to be expunged. I have purchased about 6-10 Shark Tank items and I will say, this is my FAVORITE! Probably, because this has been a life-long issue for me to begin with. THANK YOU TO THE MAKERS OF SQUATTY POTTY! REALLY - THANK YOU I believe now in the system that we are like our ancestors and, therefore, when we go to the bathroom our legs must parallel to our bodies. It wasn't something I thought about until seeing this WONDERFUL ITEM on SHARK TANK but I will say that - for me a person that has ALWAYS had a problem going #2 - THIS WORKS!

The Squatty Potty is amazing!
The Squatty Potty is amazing! I got this for my wife to use during pregnancy (growing baby pushes internals around causing difficulty with some bodily functions). I was somewhat skeptical about how much this would really help, but the first time I used it, I laughed out loud. I wasn’t expecting the high level of performance gains in the delivery system. Even when I needed to go, but things just weren’t quite ready, if you know what I mean, using the Squatty Potty allowed passage with minimal straining. I have not experienced any hanging chads since using the expungement aid. My wife has similar experience as me. In fact, she was just complaining that she no longer has time to read her magazine while sitting upon the porcelain throne. Now that the “does it function as advertised” review is taken care of, I will move to the general construction. The Squatty Potty is made of plastic, with some rubber feet on the bottom. I have tile floors and am able to easily slide the device across the floor. With my feet positioned for use, there is enough friction that the device doesn’t move. It slides under the toilet bowel tightly, and extends out the left/right sides a little bit. My toilet seat is 16 inch high, and I got the 7 inch Squatty Potty model. This doesn’t interfere too much with the male standing posture. Though with shorter people/kids, they may not be able to straddle to the sides as easily. The plastic makes it easy to clean, which is ideal in a bathroom environment. The plastic seems durable and sturdy, but says not to use as step stool. In response to the often asked question of, “can’t I just use books or something else to prop my feet up?” The answer is, yes you could. But the thought of a porous book or wood blocks in a bathroom environment simply grosses me out. Plus, when you got to go, you got to go. I’m not going to spend an extra minute or two to stack books or blocks when the urgency is there. Now for what it doesn’t do. The Squatty Potty will not make you ready to go. Ie, it does not cure or alleviate constipation. It does ease in the passage of the waste once the waste is in position to be jettisoned. One final note. I got a Squatty Potty for my dad for Father’s day, but it caused temporary soreness of his bum while using. His bathroom is too small to position it properly, so unknown at this time if that is the cause or maybe for some people having feet elevated puts more pressure on the posterior causing a little discomfort. I have not personally experienced this effect.

Better experience
Sturdy and a new, better experience for me. All these years I made fun of squat toilets in far-off countries but it really is a relief and this allows you to enjoy the best of two worlds.
