Captures Terrific High-Gain Audio
I've used a variety of mini-shotguns while filming an off-road series, called In4Lo, on Amazon Prime. Full-sized shotguns won't work because they're so long they show up in your picture. I've been using an Azden recently, but have been dissatisfied with its poor audio gain. However this inexpensive Takstar capture terrific audio, specifically dialog - which is the hardest thing to capture when you're outdoors surrounded by noisy engines.

Great value, external battery, plenty of videos online regarding setting up.
To be honest, this is my first shotgun mic I've ever owned and I'm very impressed. Took some time to figure out how to tweak the sound but it does what i need! It may not have all the adjustments an expensive one has, but if you are on a budget then this is the Mic for you. I use it with my Canan Vixia HFR800 for my YouTube channel and its perfect. I recommend this to someone on a budget and just starting out.

Better than built-in
Not as directional as I was hoping. Does work very well. It will take some time to dial in settings to get the best results. I really didn’t have time to experiment before I had to use it, but end the end, it got the job done.

Great product for the price
Came just as described. Was a little leary but I am pleased with the product. Everything works. The quality of sound you get for the price, can't complain too much. I believe it was worth it. The furry cover was a nice addition. Seems to work great.

Better than Rode Video Mic Pro for super cheap!
I purchased the Rode Video Mic Pro and then I purchased this and I did a side by side comparison and this microphone actually sounds more clear. So I returned the Rode and I kept this. It’s unbelievable how much money you can save

BEST Mic on the Market!
Save your money on the top tier mics! This mic lives up to the hype and beyond! Better than most Rode mics! I've used it multiple times not with my Sony a7riii! I'm a YouTuber and I'm constantly filming vlogs, reaction videos, music videos, etc. An incredible product!

So let's say you have a camera over here, but need a microphone over there... this'll do.
I have this attached to a boom arm, with a long audio cable running to a zoom h1n to record audio for videos. It does exactly what it's intended to do. I'm a novice, and I'm totally fine with the quality of the audio this is able to capture in my setup. One thing to note: There APPEARS to be a foot on this that will allow you to mount this atop a camera in the hot shoe. On a Sony A6400, this is not at all possible. The foot of this thing is not shaped properly to allow that at all. If I ever do decide that I need to mount this thing directly to the camera, I'll probably have to get an adapter, or use one of the many hacks that people have discussed on the internet.
