When George the giant spies a shop full of wonderful clothes, he decides to treat himself to a new outfit. He puts on his new shirt, pants, shoes, and tie, and is immediately transformed from the scruffiest giant in town to the spiffiest giant in town. But on his way home, George runs into various animals who need his help. And little by little, George finds himself giving away all his new purchases. From the creators of Room on the Broom, this is a lively tale that reminds readers that sometimes it's what's inside a person-or a giant-that matters most. Review: Great book - My son (2 year old) loves this book as well as all of the other books by this author, we have several. Review: Nice story - Cute book about caring for others.

good story; it's fun and moral
The Spiffiest Giant in Town is fun for both reading aloud and reading alone. The illustrations serve to promote the story's plot and message, both of which are consistent Christian message. It's worth the price.

Toddlers are obsessed with this book
My kids love Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Like, everything they do, my kids can't get enough of. They love the short little movies of their work, they love the illustration style and all the silly little elements Mr. Scheffler sneaks in. They love the story lines, the rhythm. And this book they maybe like most of all. Maybe it's because I made up a tune to sing when the giant is singing his little song? But regardless, this book is a hit at our house. I like it, because I feel like it aides me in teaching them the importance of sharing and generosity, as well as the idea that material items aren't the most important things in life. It's a lofty concept for toddlers. But it's a good launching point.

Most beautiful book about kindness
This was and still is one of our family's favorite books of all time. It is a sweet story of being kind and selfless to strangers. Sometimes you can give everything, even the clothes off of your back to others who need it more than you do. However, it also addresses how one must be appreciative and grateful to that person who made the kind gesture and how that makes the giver feel. My kids are now 12 (son) and 14 (daughter) and are supposedly "too cool", but they still humor me when I ask them if they'd like to read "baby books" when they know I just want to snuggle. This is always one of the books they choose :)
