Review: CLIFF BURTON STILL LIVES!!! - I bought this DVD to replace the VHS I had scince 1990;all tghough I've seen it befor that(think I was in 5 or 6 grade).I love the old METALLICA '81-'86 (Justice is a good album after that forget it). They were raw, energetic, and inocent. This is a bunch of footage with Cliff Burton (R.I.P) Thier second bass player. In my opinion this is METALLICA at thier best;and I also think the spirit and sound of METALLICA died when Cliff died. I,ve tried to listen to the new stuff. I just cant;I'm not into it. Every time I watch this DVD I cry and think about what other great music Cliff could have given us. Cliff was and still is one of the most phanominal bass players that ever lived.(my opinion)You might think its strange;but every year on Sept 26 @ 9pm I play the final gig in remembrance of Cliff( I do the same for his first show "Mar 5 '83" he played with the band). Any fan of METALLICA or Cliff Burton should own this dvd. And to all the pepole that complain about the quallity and sound live with it!Can you realize how hard it was to get those bulky, heavy cameras in there. Cameras of the 70s and 80s were not made like they are today. Go on the net and try to find their old stuff on film. It's hard, and the stuff you do find is off this DVD. Buy this now you won't regret it!!!!! Review: Cliff'em All review - This is an absolute must have for anyone that loves Metallica! After you watch it you will literally see exactly what I mean by saying absolute must have!

Metallica when they were still (mostly) Metallica
Yea, I'm a bitter, long-haired, middle-aged man who dislikes the more recent exploits of Metallica. However, this DVD is an example of how a great band can be popular yet still keep their underground credibility (now gone). Putting together bootlegged fan footage with some professional footage makes this DVD visually interesting without resorting to overproduced flashiness. The footage from their early days (Dave Mustaine!) and the seeming spy camera work on Cliff's drug deals/dens is essential to add to the graininess of the tale. Even on the "present day" (1987) footage, the rough camera work with the other 3 drinking beer, listening to the radio (is that Tesla?) and just hanging out is the essence of what Metallica was in the eyes of their long-time fans. This DVD is a touching tribute to an integral member of the band and an important document in the history of Metallica for those who know nothing of them before "King Nothing" or even "Enter Sandman."

Cool look back
I got the Cliff Burton book and immediately ordered this when I finished reading it. It's bootleg but any real Metallica fan will appreciate it. They were so raw and good back then. I liked they're albums after Master of Puppets too but this is a glimpse into a short lived era that all those old 'tallica fans keep shoving down your throat haha. Cool video

the reason i loved metallica!
this was metallica in the day, no wussy sandman or fuel, cliff never would have played that garbage! in my strong opinion metallica died with cliff, and it is really sad. i met cliff at a marriot hotel in 1986 and he signed my stuff and was a really cool guy. a few months later he was gone. some of the songs on in justice were written by cliff thats one reason it rocks! the black album to me is metallicas funeral! they turned into the band they swore they would never become. this dvd is full of great tunes and moments with cliff and the gang from 83-86 when the metal militia reighned supreme. no wimpy songs, they were drunk, stoned and ready to take on the world! long before james went into rehab. even some dave mustaine on here. metal up your a**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best home video compilation ever
This video, while recorded by fans on various camcorders in the 1980s, is probably the best home video compilation documenting a band there is. This video takes you through the days before Kill 'em All, with interviews, performances, and photos all the way into the Master of Puppets tour. There are even clips with Dave Mustaine on lead guitar at Cliff's 2nd gig with the band. Some people will complain about the quality of the audio and video. For those people I say: 1) What footage exists of this band during this time period with better quality audio / video? 2) This is supposed to be an amateur video compilation. If you haven't seen Metallica with Cliff Burton, this is definitely worth adding to your collection.

Awesome footage of early Metallica
Cliff Burton was such a huge part of Metallica and his death was so tragic. You have to wonder how Metallica would have progressed after Master of Puppets if Cliff hadn't died. Cliff put so much creativity and energy into music and was such a big part of the success Metallica had early on. This DVD has a few different live recordings of shows from the early days and a few interviews interwoven. It was such a good compilation to honor a metal legend.

MOST IMPORTANT METAL DVD
In my opinion, this is the most important DVD in thrash metal history. Quality of sound and video is raw like thrash metal in the mid-'80s. There are no posers and pretty pictures. Its pure metal. If you want to understand real thrash metal you have to start with this DVD. It is more than only Cliff Burton's story. R.I.P Cliff
