Tasty gin. Love the bottle⁰

Really liked this gin - absolutely excelled in a Martini, and great in a G&T. Beautiful bottle, very tactile, nice to pour, great to look at. The measuring cap is a wee bit of a gimmick (who needs half a shot of gin?), but a good stopper anyway. But yes, the real highlight is of course the gin itself - no so strongly flavoured that it doesn't taste like gin (looking at you Malfy!), but really good notes and hints of the different botanicals involved. I rarely buy the same gin twice as there's so much choice out there, but this one will definitely get another purchase.

A really lovely gin with unique taste that is subtle and extremely well-balanced. Many gins just have a strong taste of alcohol but this one really presents the botanicals first. The taste leans ever so slightly towards the maritime and for me evokes memories of lazy sunny days on sand dunes with the sea lapping against the shore. The gin would therefore (in my humble opinion) pair well with more flavourful fish dishes, charcuterie meats, mature cheeses or dark chocolate. The bottle is a beautiful blue-green colour and completes the package of this quality item. So glad this is now available through Amazon as I used to have to wait until I could visit the lovely little distillery to stock up whilst on holiday.

The Crafty Distillery produce amazing spirits based on their own vodka created from locally grown Scottish wheat. After visiting the distillery two years ago and tasting their products Hills and Harbour is one of our favourite gins.

The gin is OK. Nothing special. Not great, not terrible. But the bottle, while looking good, is totally impractical. First the 'cork'. Unfortunately they've chosen to use a really sticky type of plastic for the stopper. And it's a really difficult size to get a good grip on it - it's not high enough to allow your fingers to grip the stopper and not the lip of the bottle at the same time. And you will need a good grip because the stopper grips the neck of the bottle like a vise. I had to resort to using a pair of plumbers grips to open it the first time. That's when you discover that the wide neck, combined with the shape of the neck, makes it almost impossible not to slosh gin over the floor when the neck finally releases its grip on the stopper. Once you have got the stopper out, you can forget about pouring a careful measure. The wide mouth means that the gin rushes out of the bottle. Somebody really needs to do some re-engineering of their bottle. Along with real customer testing.

Hatte ich mir Waldiger vorgestellt. Das waldige kommt zwar durch, aber Subtieler als erwartet. Sehr interessante Note. Schmeckt wie kein anderer. Genieße ihn mit mediteranem fever tree und einer Mango. die Mango ist zu erkennen aber nicht zu dominat. Alles in allem sehr harmonisch und Komplex. Toller Sommergin mit wiedererkennungswert. NIcht zu fruchtig Nicht zu kräftig. Bestimmt nichts für jedermann. Ein Versuch ist er wert. Für mich einer der besten unter 100 gins und gerade auf platz1 meine riesigen Ginsammlung. Nicht ganz günstig. Aber gute Preisleistung. Würde ihn aber wieder kaufen. Bei Batch 311 war der Wurm drin. Da war was nicht ok. Der war leider muffig. Jetzt verglichen mit batch 320 die wieder sehr angenehm und weich schmeckt. So wie ich es kenne. Hab hier einfach den Händler meines vertrauens gewählt. Der letzte schob es auf natürliche Abweichungen. Also nicht abschrecken lassen wenn ihr mal nen muffigen gin bekommt stimmt etwas nicht. Habs verglichen und da stimmte was mit der Bauch 311 nicht.
