Great weight to allow your fingers to still be "usable" :)
A recent encounter between a felting needle and my child's finger led to quite the nasty infection and a very $$$$ Dr's bill by the time we cleared up the infection. Needless to say I realized there may be a value in some finger guards when jabbing needles repeatedly next to your finger tips and immediately got busy on Amazon looking for the right set... ! I picked these ones because they are on the thinner and more flexible side. I know that can also be a con (if you're dedicated you can jab right through them!) but I also feel like it's a pro.It can be frustrating when doing detail work to have something really bulky on your hand/getting in the way. So frustrating, in fact, that you'd rather give up the activity than deal with the irksome aids. I didn't want that to happen to my daughter since she enjoys felting so much. This set is providing an extra layer of protection for her fingers but is small enough to work well with little hands, and bendy enough to still allow her to easily use the fingers. Highly recommend it!

Finger Guards- Keep your fingers SAFE!
I am giving these 5 stars but I need to say that these Finger Guards do not work for me. I wouldn’t say my hands are very small at all BUT these are to long and so loose that they slip right off of my fingers. There are 3 sizes in the package but even using the two smaller ones they are still to big for me. So, just an FYI, if you have tiny fingers they may not work for you.Despite that I think they are very nice. The silicone is smooth on the inside and ribbed on the outside to hold your wool. Just be aware, If you poke very hard your needle will still pierce thru, I have heard this with leather too. I am very happy with this purchase, not their fault my fingers are thin, lol.

Work great!
I bought these to protect my fingers as I started needle felting. I have miscalculated and 'stabbed' the finger guards a few times and they were totally effective. The guard stopped the needle so I didn't hurt myself. Now that I've been doing it for a little while, my aim is getting better!

My Fingers Thank You, Dimensions!
These Dimensions Finger Guards are wonderful protection while doing needle felting. The sizes easily fit any finger you put them on and securely stays there. The grooves on the sides allow them to expand or hug the finger. So using on the thumb and first two fingers is perfect for the protection you need. The tough silicone material keeps that needle out of your fingers while holding the rover down. I am very pleased with my set.

Not needed
These work great at protecting my fingers from the needles but not the easiest for holding onto the wool. They are a little bulky and will take getting used to, but honestly I find myself not using them at all so I can better grip the wool.

Managed to poke through with a felting needle. Ouch!
I got this for my girlfriend who does quite a bit of needle felting. The barbed felting needles tend to be pretty painful if you poke yourself, so some protection is a good idea when you're doing detail work.In use, she found that the item didn't really impede her ability to work on fine details, and the silicone material provides pretty good grip. Maybe she was felting too aggressively, but she managed to pierce right trough one time and stick her fingertip. You had one job, Finger Guards! The guards do generally offer good protection, but I feel like they should be a little tougher to accidentally puncture if puncture protection is the entire reason they exist. They will certainly cut down on the number of times you poke yourself with a barbed needle, but they may not reduce that number to zero.

Just the thing for hand sewing!
Great protection for hand piecing quilt blocks. I am right handed so I use the smallest tube on the pointer finger of my left hand. I used to prick holes in my finger tips, making them sore and limiting my sewing time because of the discomfort. The product is soft and very flexible but thick. Doesn't impede my movement at all..

Worthless. Stick to the leather finger guards.
Doesn't work at all. The needles went right through and I stabbed myself multiple times. I was not using a lot of force either.
