Works well.
We get many long nonstandard pallets. This is great to break them down and recover the 2x4s. Buy a decent iron pipe at your home center, drill through for the shackle, and you are in business. I did not see any issues with the welds. I had no problem fitting it with a pip2.

Sloppy handle fit
This item appears to be solidly welded. Time will tell of course but I do not foresee it falling apart. However, the socket into which the handle goes measures 1-3/8 inches in diameter while standard Schedule 40 and 80 pipe that is easily obtained from the local big box store measures 1-5/16 inches in diameter thereby making for a very sloppy fit. You can’t get pipe having an exact 1-3/8 outside diameter. “Top rail” chain link fence parts that claim to be 1-3/8 are in fact 1-5/16 too and are substantially thinner walled than black pipe, so they would be poor secondary choices for handle material. Lastly, to mail order steel or aluminum thin wall tube having the exact diameter costs way more than the tool itself. Grrr…. As I found the sloppiness to be unacceptable, I cut up an empty food can and made a shim to go all the way around the pipe inside the socket. It reduced the slop to an acceptable minimum. I took away one star for having to undergo this annoyance. Seriously, they could have made the socket 1/16 inch smaller for their customers’ benefit. Anyway, I pulled apart two pallets as a quick test. They came apart easily. Once you get the handle on (mine is 5’ long) this is a nice tool.

No quality control!
I really wanted to like this product, it is STURDY and heavy. The problem is that "All you will need to get going is a 1” steel pipe of any length which can be purchased at the local hardware store" is an outright lie because the quality control is so bad. The one that was shipped to me two thick weld seams and tons of welding spatter on the inside of the seat for the handle... no problem it was just painted over. This means that no 1" pipe, at least not farther than the threaded section of black pipe. I will admit that I was able to use the product without fully inserting the pipe, and it worked well. It was quick and easy to tear apart pallets. That is until the thin threaded section collapsed like a bent straw after the fourth pallet. I do like a challenge, so instead of complaining about it I have spent the past few days trying to smooth out the socket so that I can fit a new pipe in all the way. I am still not there yet. If I ever get a 1" pipe to fit in the socket all the way I will update the review, but I doubt (given the time and effort needed to make a brand new tool usable) that my opinion will change. After giving up on sanding I used a cylinder hone to flatten the weld seems in the socket. It took 2 calendar hones (wore through the first one) with a coarse grit and about two hours just with the hone (God only knows how long I spent with files and sandpaper... I'm a hand woodworker all I had in my shop). I was shocked, I knew it was bad but I didn't think it was that BAD! Anyway, the bore is nowhere near smooth (think surface of the moon) but I was finally able to clean up the bore enough to get the recommended 1" pipe to go in past the thread. I have successfully used the pallet ripper to tear down a few pallets. It isn't perfect and will break some boards but it is a useable condition now. I would have added a star from my initial posting, because it sort of works as advertised, but the complete lack of quality control is unacceptable and time ot took to get it working is atrocious. When I buy a brand new tool, I don't feel like I should have to buy other tools and spend many hours of time bringing it to a useable condition. Especially when a major selling point of that tool is to save time! All things considered, I my advice is to buy a different tool the Pallet Buster, is no bargain. The head costs about $30, the pipe costs about $20. I am sure you can find a toll that comes to your door ready to use for the same price or less. I have started to think that the Pallet Buster isn't shipped with a handle because then they would have no excuse for shipping unusable products right from the factory! Best of luck if you decide to get one of these, and I hope you like sanding!

Pallet Buster
I loved the fast delivery ordered Sunday night was here at 4:30 Monday morning. Used it to break down pallets did 5 in about 30 minutes . The following week I used a sawzall took all day and about 30 dollars in blades to do only 8 pallets and on Saturday my teeth were still vibrating. This tool is awesome love it just put a handle on actually used my handle off my big floor jack around 42” long works perfect. So much quieter. Highly recommend for any diy I also found out pallets that are a little damp or yet break apart with ease but dry pallets take a little more muscle.

Well Built!
Works wonderfully! Ordered the yellow one fist, it broke the first time I used it. Reordered the black one, made of steel instead of alloy. It's tuff as nails. I highly recommend this. It's quick and easy!

US Solid, Canadian approved
Have to give a little bit of love to this product. A true game changer if you tear apart skids for any reason. A welcome addition to any handyman arsenal of tools to tear apart skids, MVP of the roster after a very short amount of time. Fast shipping to my part of Ontario Canada. Solidly built I have no issues or concerns with design, craftsmanship or materials. Just believe it could be sold for a little bit less. I decided to purchase this one after seeing inferior yellow brand one with bent forks at one of the factories I stop at. Great product absolutely a game changer, time & back saver. Highly recommend, True MVP

Good stuff, could be improved a little
Works well. It's well built, but the distance between the flat bars could be another 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide. It doesn't quite fit some of the wider pallet boards

Works like a charm! Un vrai charme!
Wow!!! Works like a charm, use a long pipe for more leverage. Ca fonctionne très bien avec une pipe de métal de 1”, qui donne plus de force.
