This is a quality piece that is easy to put together, it looks great by the fireplace and is easy to use. It is so much nicer then most of the ash buckets. The additional handle in the back make this a breeze to empty. Good product.

I now have two of these devices for emptying my fireplace of ashes.Before I had this ash holder, I used paper bags directly. It is a much nicer experience using the ash holder first, then emptying the ash holder into a paper bag, out in my driveway. Sometimes hot cinders are mixed in, so I prefer bringing the ash outside in a metal container like this.

So, it is a bit pricey --- but this Ash holder has A+ functionality vs. traditional buckets. The one handed operation is clutch -- it can not only be carried easily but not having to futz with getting the lid open is a game changer. Flip it open to load in ashes and when dumping ashes it easily and effortlessly swings open on its own. The low profile/height of the holder allows me to position it in front of my Hearthstone Heritage woodstove door and the door can swing open over it provided the ash holder lid is in the closed position. I am just reading in other reviews that a traditional paper grocery bag also matches up with the opening if you want to transfer your ashes. The handle is comfortable and the overall design is aesthetically pleasing.
