Minoura FT-1 Pro Wheel Truing Stand - Black

Works great so far, but I just received it and only used it to true a freshly laced 3/8 female bmx wheel and it was Easy And Fast. I have laced tons of wheels but always had to take them to the shop to be finished, now thanks to this nice little stand I can do it myself Edit: I have used this truing stand for 8 years now and both personally and in my now closed shop and it worked great. my only complaint is that the company logo was screen printed on mine poorly and was completely gone within six months of owning it and honestly I was babying it because it was a gift from a friend so I would build him custom wheels for his bike. I ran a custom BMX wheel shop with this as my sole truing stand, so it will last if you just take care of it.

I have trued many wheels with it. It’s capable of fitting all sizes of wheels including 29” even with the tire on! You need to clamp the skewers on the arms of the unit. Otherwise wheel shakes a lot ones you turn it by hand which ends up touching the truing gauges a few times until having a fully turn of the wheel. I wouldn’t call this an issue. But still be careful. The biggest issue is that wheel is not centered between the truing gauges. You need to true each side by flipping your wheel. I guess that’s what I should expect from an affordable truing stand. Affordable by no means is cheap! But that’s the market and value of a truing stand. I still recommend it. Just be aware of not centering your wheel. Bonus tip: try finding which side of spokes are loosen. This way you can avoid truing both side if it’s not necessary. Just hit the spokes and listen to the harmony. Loosen spoke creates a lower sound pitch. P.S. : A wheel is comprised of many unites such as rim, tire, spokes and free hub body ( for rear wheel). I use the term wheel as I try truing all unit together.

If you shop for value, it's hard to go wrong with this stand. If you're a pro, you should get the Park stand. If you're a garage hack, like me, you should get this one. For a long time I debated getting this one or the Bike Hand truing stand here on Amazon. The Bike Hand has lots of the features of the Park stand for a lot less money, but this one basically has all those same features for even less money. It's not nearly as heavy as the pro tool, which means it's less rigid. I don't consider this a downside, though, because working with bike wheels requires patience and care anyway, so you shouldn't be heavy-handed enough to move the wheel in the stand. There is no knob to adjust the spread of the legs for hub spacing, so you have to manually set it, then install a skewer to keep it in place. No big deal. For the money, this is an obvious winner over the Park Home Truing Stand. It's cheaper, has more features, and is easier to use.

Quality truing stands are way to expensive. But this budget option just isn't it. While this is adequate enough to true a wheel, you will be fighting with it to get the wheel where it should be. Taking a lot of your time making mistakes from the bad measurements this stand will give you. I'd say its worth it spending the extra for a professional parktool truing stand you'll save money in the long term. I hate the parktool tax just as much as everyone else, but its important to get your wheels built right.

I've used it on three wheels now, and it is easy to use and works great. It's got a small foot print and so is easy to store.

I am a recreational cyclist and will occasionally need to true the wheel. It fits the bill for what I was looking for. I was able to spin the wheel and adjust the caliper and allow me to find the area of the wheel that needed attention. If you are a professional and looking for perfection, maybe buy the upgrade. This works fine for what I need.

Bought this to use to true my kids' wheels on their BMX Race bicycles. It is sturdy but like the other reviews said "If you are a professional wheel builder, this is not for you." Occasional use for a dinged up wheel is fine. Aside from the poor English in the manual, the instructions are pretty clear. My only REAL complaint is that the calipers cannot be used on both sides of the wheel. You can have the Right Side caliper on the wheel, or the Left Side caliper on the wheel, but not both at the same time. This is a design flaw in my opinion since you have no way to tell if the hub is actually centered in the wheel (Horizontally). It's odd that the Pillar and Axle Holder move symmetrically, (closes on the axle equally on both sides), but the Calipers (whose job it is to make sure the wheel is True) do not. If it worked like the Park Tool, I'd have given it 4 stars.

ho dato la massima valutazione perchè il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo. centraruote di buona fattura, ovviamente non adatto ad uso intensivo professionale, ma perfetto per un uso personale. difficile raggiare completamente una ruota ma la centratura orizzontale e verticale si ottiene in modo assolutamente soddisfacente. In positivo la buona stabilità, la possibilità di essere ripiegato, le regolazioni delle dime avvengono a vite, la forcella permette l'inserimento anche di ruote da 29". di negativo il materiale delle forchette e dei forcellini di aggancio è in plastica ( delicato), la ruota per quanto fermata con il qr ha un minimo movimento (non bisogna fare pressione sul cerchio quando si cercano i punti di contatto), necessita di adattatori per ruote a perno passante, manca l'attrezzo a T per centrare la forchetta rispetto i forcellini, non adatto per la campanatura, ma in ogni caso ci vuole l'attrezzo specifico. gli aspetti negativi vengono largamente compensati da quelli positivi. a quel prezzo per un uso saltuario non penso abbia concorrenti.

Far cheaper than the pro stands, I was sceptical whether this would do the job but actually, it's excellent! It is robust, easy to use and packs away flat. The reference guides are solid and centred plus everything is easy to adjust and lock down when you need it to. Very impressed with the build quality at this price point and I'd thoroughly recommend the product for home wheel building.

Took a while as it came from the other side of the world and when it finally arrived it was everything I was hoping for .Managed to true some old wheels before going to my current ride ,as I wanted to experiment with the principles before I need to on my E-bike .It is a truing stand and as such is totally dependent on the operator to get the wheels right so is it worth the money ? as long as you are up for the time and effort definatly .
