I just bought this, what does one do when the adapters don't go low enough to use the locking ring?

If the adapter size does not go small enough then use some really good vise grips to get the inner tie rod loose.

will this fit a 2012 ram 2500

It will not and it was quite a disappointment. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 and the largest one in this set is still not big enough to take it off. I ended up having to use a extra long adjustable wrench.

Will it work on a 1991 buick park avenue

I have used it on several mid 90's buicks and it works flawlessly
