Flomasta PTFE Liquid 50g

i used to use this product when i was working in the h g v repair garage, and it is just as brilliant now. even complete novices cant go wrong using it.

I wanted to know if this was suitable for sealing air line joints, so I asked the question on here, many answers said no, I’m so glad I read the description and purchased it as it actually says on it for compressed air !! This is perfect for sealing air joints, you have to leave it to set so would not be for quick use and ptfe tape would be better in that case, I have used this when replacing my air line joints and it works great no leaks, when someone is replying to questions do they actually know about the product or are they just bored wanting something to do. I even had some replies saying sorry I don’t know, why reply with sorry I don’t know !!!

I used this product on my Air Compressor when renewing some parts and works brilliantly, especially when wanting the pressure gauges to sit straight. However this price is way over the top when it can be picked up from screwfix for £8.98 and same day rather than nearly £20 and over a week for delivery.

Makes life easy handy to have.

Does what it's supposed to do. I'm a convert to using this stuff everywhere now. Only downside is it's a bit more tricky if you want to get joints apart.

Excellent product for a water tight seal.

As a professional plumber, I always use this stuff on radiator valve tails and hot water cylinder fittings if there's any doubt at all about PTFE tape working. It's particularly useful on valve tails going into towel rail radiators where there usually isn't much screw thread in the rad to seal up. I don't use it in place of PTFE tape on compression fittings as it does make joints difficult to get apart and in any case, you shouldn't ever need it on those. Both male and female threads need to be clean and dry, and you apply it to both. Then tighten them up, wipe off any excess and it's ready to use. You can leave it to dry for a bit if you like (and normally you'll take a bit of time finishing off the job before you put the water back into the radiator or whatever else you're using it on), but it doesn't really need any time once the joint's tightened. One final point, ahem...! Check the price at a national firm with a name related to "threaded fasteners" (Screwf..) before you buy it. At the time of writing, it's less than half the price that it is on here. Highly recommended stuff.
