I purchased this as a lower cost alternative to a VG10 blade that was just too expensive to justify. I kept this in the box, and did not use it until I had about 6 bacons to slice up. I was really pleased at the ease of use of this slicer. It gave me excellent, thin to thick bacon slices, and was sharp enough out of the box to do the job no problem. When finished, I simply stropped the blade, and returned it to it's original box. Very good product for medium to light slicing tasks. The blade was sharp, and did not dull with my amount of use. Stropped easily back to original sharpness. Nice balance and easy to hold and use. I am very satisfied for the price. I have had no issues with rust, and the blade came scratch free. Handle is comfortable. I have no complaints and it exceeded my expectations, so it gets 5 stars based on the value price and overall quality. I can recommend this product 100%.

I was looking at slicer knives for quite some time, trying to find one that would be short enough to keep in my knife roll, and I was worried about getting some of the cheaper ones, but the prices on some high-end knives was ridiculous. After much browsing, I kept coming back to the Kessaku 12" carver/slicer. It was in the low-middle of the price range but the reviews were terrific and the photos and description were intriguing. I pulled the trigger. I. Could. Not. Be. Happier. Just the right amount of flex/stiffness, arrived very sharp, ready to carve. And the presentation box? Well, I may be tempted to keep it in the nice box instead of my knife roll. And it comes with an edge guard, too. The finish is impeccable, the G-10 handle is gorgeous, and from my experience with G10 on pistol grips, I expect them to be virtually indestructible. I love this knife. I'm tempted to replace other knives I have with Kessaku versions, but that would just be wasteful. But I am still tempted. I cannot recommend these highly enough.

This knife is one of the best investments in our kitchen. Easy to thinly slice any item, and it's beautiful, too! Stays sharp, cuts evenly, and is a great gift.

This is a very nice product. I ordered it as I was in need of a decent carving knife to go with my knife set. After reviewing several competitors in a similar price range, I landed on this one. I do not regret it. It came out of the box very sharp and has a good weight and balance to it. It carves well and the protective blade sleeve (included) is an added bonus!

I have always wanted a quality carver and this one fit the bill for the money. It arrived promptly and was packaged in a very nice presentation box that will be great for storing when not in use. Knife appears well built, has a good feel in the hand and is razor sharp. Should be great for Thanksgiving. My only issue is my knife arrived with scratching down near the hilt. It really isn't enough to worry too much about but it keeps me from giving this item 5 stars. Otherwise, for the money...Fantastic.

I have used this knife to slice chicken breasts, pork loin and brisket. Also used it to make very thin cuts to make beef jerky. Worked perfectly every time. Holds a sharp edge and has a great feel in the hand for such a long knife. Well balanced. Packaging and protective sleeve add to the value of the purchase.

Received the order today, and couldn't be happier. The knife met every expectation. My father was a butcher, so I have used high quality knifes all my life. This knife appears to be the same high quality that I am used to. It come sharpened so that it can be used immediately. I will follow up after I have used it for awhile, to let you know how long the sharpness lasts. It appears that I will be able to use a strop or steel to maintain the sharpness.

Great knife! This knife comes in a nice presentation/gift box which can be used for storage or you can use the included sheath to store and protect the knife. It was very sharp, well balanced and ready to use straight out of the box. I was able to make thin consistent cuts on an entire brisket with ease. I only wish that I had purchased this a long time ago. Great price for the quality.
