Overall A Great Bed
Pros: We bought this bed for a 4 year old one year ago and it has held up very well. It is perfectly sturdy for her and I assume will be for many years to come. It is the perfect height for her to get in and out of herself and has just enough room underneath for toy storage and to sit under. It took a few hours for us to assemble but there weren’t any issues with it. Cons: The few issues I have with the bed would not deter me from buying it again, but are just things to be aware of. The biggest thing is that the edges are all very blunt so we have put padding along a lot of it near her pillow, as well as underneath the bed for when she sits under it. She did scrape her head on one portion that I hadn’t covered so we have added more. As some other reviews stated the slats that the mattress sit on are far apart. We bought a mattress board and that works really well to keep the mattress from sinking between the slats. Overall it is a great bed for a child and especially if you want extra floor space. With a few modifications it has worked really well for us.

Good bed for a good price
We bought this bed for my son as his first big boy bed. The room he was in at the time was very small, and this helped keep more floor space accessible. We have taken it apart and relocated it to his new bedroom, and I'm pleased to say that it was easy to reassemble, even though we no longer had the instructions. My son has high energy needs and this bed has been put through a lot of activity, but it has remained stable. He doesn't really interact with the space under the bed much, but we found it works great for storing extra toys. The only real downside for us is that his mattress doesn't quite fit the length of the bed, but he has a tempur pedic mattress and that is not the recommended mattress for this bed. We got a board to go under the mattress and that helped a lot. The mattress supports on the bed can also sometimes get out of sync sometimes because you don't nail all of them down, but that is not a deal breaker. Overall, I am satisfied with this bed. I hope my son continues to enjoy it for many years to come.

Good quality, great customer service
I have 3 of these beds, one in white and two in the blue. Out of three sets of this bed I only ran into one problem where a beam was split before I took it out of the box. One simple call to the DHP customer service and it arrived free of charge to me within a week. The assembly wasn't difficult for me, but I love these types of projects. I have my nine, seven, and 2-year-old in these beds and they feel pretty safe and sturdy to me. I will say that I added extra support for under the mattresses, as the mattresses were dipping at each end of the bed. I got 4 2ftx 4ft boards at home Depot for less than $30. Now that there's extra support I can join my kids to snuggle. We have indoor string lights under the beds and the kids love reading in their new books under the beds. I've recommended to friends multiple times. I will say the prices fluctuates considerably so eat h for a deal. I got my daughter's bed first at $220 and then saw that they were on sale for $120 and got my two sons their beds. Not sure why it changes so often.

Super sturdy!!! 2.5yrs & still going strong! (Edit: it lasted us 5yrs & still going strong)
We have had this bed since Feb 2021 (2.5yrs now) & it’s still going strong! We got it for my daughter who was 4yo at the time. She is now 6.5yo. Mind you, she is a wild child, although a bit on the petite side. She has jumped on, jumped off, wildly crawled around the bed & it’s still super sturdy! It does not wobble at all. (I’m about 160lbs & climb on the ladder all the time to make the bed too!) We bought a different one for my 3yo son (he’s very slim) that we’ve had for only ONE year & his is TERRIBLY wobbly & already, a screw from the ladder has fallen off on his (different brand). The only “bad” thing about this bed is that it’s more of an off-white color, but I don’t mind that much. I do only wish it was a bit higher. The 6-cubby storage (pictured) is Room Essentials brand from target (11 inch cubbies) & it fit perfectly under the bed with maybe 4inches left between top shelf and bottom of bed. Other than that, definitely recommend this bed!! I wished they had it in a lighter gray so we could’ve gotten for my son 😢. The gray that’s available is way too dark to match his dresser. **EDIT: we sold this loft bed in January 2026 to get official bunk beds. It’s now being enjoyed by a new family. 5 years this bed held strong against my 3 kids, without ever wobbling. My daughter used it from 4-9yo. If you’re looking for a low loft bed, this is it!! I can’t rave enough about it.

I love this bed.
Even though the product is marketed for children ages 4 through teens, in my opinion this bed can also work for young single adults (like me) with a limited living space such as a college dorm or small apartment. Do not be deceived by the studio images on the product listing: the children's toys and preschool decór under the bed in the staged pictures truly dwarf the size of this bed-- the bed is fit for a Twin, and is large enough to quite comfortably fit one adult. I purchased tension curtain rods and 24" curtains to make an elegant bed skirt, and the space underneath I use for storage. I love this bed; because so much fits under it, it saves a ton of space. The product arrives in a very large, heavy box, so plan ahead to have assistance with bringing it to your desired room. The directions made setup pretty easy, which was a relief; I used a power drill for the screws, but many of the fasteners are designed for an Allen wrench/hex key (included). This bed is not designed to be used with a box spring, so if you have a box spring you will need to dispose of it. The wood on the bed frame scratches very easily; hard pressure from your own thumbnail will leave an indentation in the wood. The bed is sturdy when used properly, but it would not safely withstand being jumped on, roughhousing/wrestling, or any "other" activities beyond sleeping. Overall I highly recommend this product. The manufacturer notes that the weight limit on the "upper part" of the bed is 165lbs. I had concerns about that before buying, because, assuming that that figure includes the weight of the mattress, that leaves not much weight for a person. I weigh 155lbs and feel very secure using this bed. Also, the manufacturer states that the consumer's mattress must not exceed 6" in height. My mattress comes to about 7" and it works just fine. The railings measure 13.5" high from the crossbeams under the mattress. Here is an excerpt from the warnings on the product that would be helpful to have had on the listing: Maximum weight on upper part of bed: 165 lbs. Do not allow horseplay on or under the bed and prohibit jumping on the bed. Do not allow children under four years of age to use the upper bunk. Bed is designed for children ranging from 4 years of age to teenagers. Use only coil spring mattresses on the upper bunk. Failure to do so can result in injury. Use only mattresses which are 74 - 75" long, 37.5 - 38.5" wide on bed. Ensure thickness of mattress does not exceed 6".

Great purchase and greaart missin!
This bed is awesome and sturdy and great for my 10 year old daughter, especially when I was unable to get the sturdy bunk beds she wanted, this actually is basically the same except no bed underneith. The ONLY reason I gave it four stars instead of 5 is that when I opened it up and started to put it together I realized I was missing PART G and like 2 dowels. But as soon as I called and I sent an email of verification of the purchase and my shipping details, they placed the order and shipped it while I was on the phone with them, so they fixed the problem immediately which is another great quality of dorel living furniture!!! Also this bed is quite simple to put together but u do need another person to help, weather to assemble the bed, or if your like me, which I'm in wheel chair, I laid everything down flat on carpet and assembled it myself, but then needed help standing it up. Very sturdy on carpet and definitely great value for the price. Great purchase all in all......ok they lost a star. Now customer service was great and sent the part that was missing and even some extras lol, the problem was that the part G holes did not match up with the 2 steps piece to screw them in, the holes was way above the holes on part G, which is the part which was sent because they didn't include it in the original package.. and also after receiving part G today to finish putting the bed together, was extremely hard to actually connect the other pieces to the new part G.... So if all the pieces comes with your bed then yes it is alot simpler and easier to put together but if they accidently forgot a part or whatever then you not only have to wait for the part but it alot more complicated and difficult to put together.... Customer service is great and the bed is great and pretty much sturdy, except for the two screws not in on the latter part, again because the holes was not lines up at all. Other then that it's a great bed and my daughter does like it alot.

Worth the money, saves a lot of floor space
Fairly sturdy, I was able to put together alone by myself (100lb female) by bracing opposite sides of frame on low table. Recommend not tightening all screws till pieces are fit in slots because I had to pull them into place a bit and needed it loose enough.

Highly recommend!
Absolutely love this bed, was easy enough to Put together following the instructions but you have to pay close attention to small details. It's been 4 months and so far no loosening at all, nice and sturdy

Great bed
Read lots of reviews saying the sturdiness wasn’t the greatest. My son (5yr/ol) and I built the bed together, been half a year now and it’s still really sturdy, no signs of flaws. Don’t over torque the fasteners, read the directions and you will have an amazing bed your kid will love! I put a 3/8” wood board across the slats so I could use a foam mattress, helped out a lot. Also added LED strip lighting under the bed to help brighten it up for a play area.
