I'm new to golf and these are perfect for me.
Update: 5/5/14: I've since upgraded the driver to a Nike VRS Tour, purchased the 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges from Pinemeadow in addition to the Pinemeadow Pre blade putter. I'm completely content with the setup now, and have about 70 rounds total (not counting the new stuff) with no problems. I haven't carried the bag since I have had the clip issues, but it does well on my Clicgear 3.5. cart. (yep, I've caught the bug and now I'm buying all kinds of golf stuff!). I still dig the irons and they're holding up very well! My first swing with a golf club was August 2012. I was immediately hooked to the game after landing on the green with my first shot on a par 3 course (easy game, right?!) and started looking for clubs. I learned that golf is expensive at that point. So I sought out amazon and found these clubs from Pinemeadow. I bought them based upon the user reviews on here -- I have a lot of faith in my fellow internet people. After 30+ par 3 rounds, and several 9-hole and 18-hole rounds, it's time to write a review. Pros: - Price was awesome for what amounts to basically a whole set of clubs (minus high lofted wedges). This was perfect for me as a starter. Note: I also purchased the set of 3 wedges from Amazon and I will review these at a later time. - Quality of the clubs is great. Being that I have had 0 lessons and have smacked the driver and 3 wood heads into the mats at the driving range (MULTIPLE TIMES!) and they still look great and function well. - Irons look slick and hit very well. They seem to be very forgiving compared to my buddies' old Ping irons from the 70s (the first club I hit). - Pinemeadow customer service was great to deal with. I had one of the plastic clips break on the shoulder harness while I was walking a course with the shoulder straps. Customer service was very responsive and sent me replacements. See my slight con below. Cons: - Driver seems really heavy compared with some of the higher end models I've felt in the pro shop. - Cheap plastic clips on the shoulder harness. Pinemeadow sent me two replacements upon request. - Top pocket on the bag is clearly marked with a tag that reads "Valuables". I prefer to NOT advertise where I keep my wallet, etc! This can be easily removed. Final Verdict: I really like these clubs and plan on using them until I get some lessons and see my scores drop so I can go for a professional fitting. And then who knows, I may still use them! I may also upgrade to a cart bag now that I have also purchased a Clicgear 3.5. I would highly recommend these if you're new and don't want to spend a lot of money on a pretty slick set of clubs.

Fantastic Clubs at a Great Price
As a beginner golfer, I needed a set of clubs that was affordable (In case I decided I didn't like playing golf) and of a descent enough quality that I would be able to learn effectively. After doing my research, I decided on this set. I couldn't be happier with my choice. The clubs are fantastic. My co-workers/friends with over 20 years of golfing experience tried them out with me and agreed that for the money, these clubs greatly exceeded their expectations even. I can keep up with the better players, and it doesn't hurt that the clubs look great either. The Putter is great. The long arrow along the top of it helps in aiming your shots, and the 2 cutout sections make a great ball retriever when your balls rolls into a stream or pond within easy reach. The Driver is light and powerful, as is the 3W and 3H. The bag is of pretty good quality, surprisingly. It is a nice stand bag with enough pockets to hold your balls, extra clothes, valuables, and the included hood cover. There is an umbrella hook and towel hook. The best part about the bag is the very comfortable straps that let you wear it like a backpack. That makes carrying it around very easy. Rather than one single shoulder strap, you get a harness that easily slides on just like a backpack, and keeps the clubs from falling out. Then when you are ready to hit, slide the bag off, the stand automatically deploys, and choose your club. Couldn't ask for more. The mechanism that deploys the stand works quite well, but because of it's size, it makes it harder to put this bag on an electric or push/pull cart. harder, but not impossible, you just have to slightly angle the bag to it's side. Very slighlty. If you are going to always use a cart, I would recommend getting a cart bag, but this one still works either way. Remember, it's a stand bag, not a cart bag. The 7 openings for clubs is pretty easy to figure out. 14 individual lined slots would have been preferred, but you won't get that at this price point. There is a recognizable putter well in the front, a slot for your PW, 3 slots for your 3 woods/hybrids, and 2 large slots to split your 4, 5, 6 and 7, 8, 9 irons. Pretty self explanatory. Altogether, this is a fantastic value for the price. My "more pro than me" golf buddies tell me this is a really great beginner set that should last me a few years while I get into the sport. I am very pleased with the improvement in my game using this set versus the rental sets from the courses. You won't be dissapointed, either.

This is a very good set for beginning golfers
I had recently taken the game up and knew it was time to upgrade from my Pawn-shop specials to a something the guys wouldn't clown me about. I did quite a bit of research online and tried to look at online reviews as a guide to help me. Okay, when I saw all the 5 star reviews, I thought for sure there was some "hype" conjured up by the manufacturer. However, after talking to a few folks at the course, most agreed that PineMeadow makes some pretty good products for the money. With that in mind, I took a chance and ordered the PRE set off Amazon. It also helped that I had recently purchased a PineMeadow P590 driver that I was content with. The PRE Set comes with Driver, 3-Wood, 3 Hybrid and 4-PW irons. I also ordered a PRE 5 Hybrid and a PRE SW to help round out my play. I have now played about 7 rounds holes since I received them last month and these are my impressions: 1)I think the PRE Driver is a good one for a golf newbie, and I am liking it more and more as time goes along. It hits good and straight with a lot of forgiveness, but beware that it is no long distance bomber. 2) The 3 Wood is fairly impressive..I hit much better off the fairways with this than my old one 3 wood and the honest distance improvement is 15-20 yards(no joke..) 3)The set doesn't have a 5 wood, but it has a 3 HYBRID...Which I still find a little bit unweildy compared to the hybrid in my junker set...The quality and balance seem fine..probably just a matter of me getting used to it as I am slicing a lot with it. Same deal with the PRE 5 Hybrid that I purchased separately. 4) The irons I love--they are all well crafted and I had no problem getting them up in the air to approximately where the ball needs to go. They don't hit long but the set has the easiest 4 iron I have ever hit....A bigg plus is that my conrol seems 100% better with this set with the exception of the PW which I find a little hard to negotiate....However, the 56deg SW is a Godsend and is my bread and butter close in. 5) The only real negative I found was with the putter as it didn't seem balanced and I consistently pulled the putts with it...For now I am still going with my old putter until I can find something better. The set came with three headcovers that I really like. They look good, seem durable, and should last at least a few years. However, the Pinemeadow Bag that it came with is really a low end one and it is already fraying. It also looks like a cheap bag (Hey you kinda want people to take you serious!) Additionally, I have broken the zipper already on one of the pockets. I will definitely swap out with my old bag as it is a lot better quality than this thing. Yeah, I know I could have gotten a good used name brand set for what I paid---but bottom line for a measely $225 total, I got a set of of new clubs that is already helping my game and that should last me at least a few years...Hopefully by then my game will have improved to the point where I warrant investing big money in a new set of Callaway, Ping, or Taylormade. There you have it...I think overall, it is a good buy for the money I spent for it. I really don't how you can do too much better than what I did with this price.

Quality Clubs, Low Price
This was my first complete set of golf clubs and they are great. After searching the internet for a quality set of clubs without the premium price I finally found Pinemeadow Pre set. I have now used the clubs a lot and played a few rounds of golf with them and they are great. I especially like the putter which hits the ball very well no matter where you hit it on the putter. I can't imagine getting a better full set for the price. These are perfect for any beginner golfer or anybody on a tight budget looking for a nice set of clubs. The bag and all the clubs look and feel high quality and don't seem like they are only $230 clubs. If you buy them on amazon, you can get them for even cheaper.

Good starter set but..
Good starter set for my young teen. Really liked them at first but today, after using the clubs for maybe the 5th time, the driver head fell right off!! Reached out to the company and they put a new driver in the mail. Great customer service. However, the next day, the head flew off the 3 wood. This occurred at the driving range with a professional instructor there, so you know he wasn't abusing the clubs. And, he only weighs 125 pounds, so it's not like he is too strong for typical clubs. I don't get it. Now I'll be asking for a full refund. I am hoping they will stand by the 1 year warranty.

Low Price High Quality
I did much research (about 2 days) before purchasing a nice golf set for myself. I noticed the Pinemeadow clubs were a 16-piece set that included the following: a 10.5 degree driver w/ head cover, a 15 degree 3 wood w/ head cover, a 21 degree #3 hybrid w/ head cover; 4,5,6,7,8,9 irons and a pitching wedge (PW), a pre mallet putter; and lastly, a dual strap carrying bag with a kick stand and rain hood. I reviewed their website and liked what I read about the company that makes the Pinemeadow brand golf clubs, also noticing the other reviews from amazon and other online shopping sites that sold this particular 16-piece set made me confident with my purchase. As soon as they arrived, I examined each one of them and let me reassure you that they were much better looking in person. They seem to be very durable and knowing that most of the clubs are stainless steel made that obvious. The driver and the 3 wood have a graphite shaft which suits those particular clubs very well. I am very, very pleased with my purchase! Thank you Pinemeadow for making great quality clubs and thank you Amazon for your low prices!

Great starter set
This is a good set for the money. I have already upgraded though (same season), and found myself adding clubs to try and make the set right before I did. For a little bit more money, you can get a better set I think, but, this a fantastic set for the money. The driver broke the first day I went out, but, the original manufacturer sent me a replacement driver fairly quickly. The bag ripped on my second outing, but, that was replaced as well. I am not a fan of the putter, but over all, it is a decent set. You do get what you pay for though. I would visit pinemeadow's web site and look for other options that are slightly more money. They do make some pretty decent clones. I have been fortunate to get a set of Callaway's, and I do notice a huge difference between them and cheaper clubs like these. The head, the shaft, the grip and the weight all comes into play. I paid much, much more for the Callaway's though. If this is your price range, go for it.

Guilty As Charged: I'm In Love with my PRE Clubs!
I'm a beginner and was searching for a decent complete set of starter clubs. I searched used sporting goods stores and couldn't believe how expensive the clubs were. So, I looked at the new sets at local sporting goods stores and they were all more expensive than the PRE clubs ($250 - $400). Then, after watching the product video here on Amazon, reading the reviews and noticing the high star rating, I decided to give PRE a try. After just two weeks, I'm thoroughly impressed with their design, function and exactly how complete the set really is. It comes with sock covers for the "woods" and also a rain cover for the bag itself. The bag is high quality canvas. My golf coach said the pre clubs are absolutely perfect for me as a beginner - and the price, well, the price is just excellent. My partner is not amused that I've been keeping them right next to my night table; I'm even being accused of wanting to sleep with them. Guilty as charged. I'm in love with my PRE Clubs and obsessed with golf...

I am very happy with purchase
Overall very satisfied. Just got a hole in one with the 7 iron 5 days ago. Slightly lesser quality but what would you expect. They preform perfectly. Played my whole first season with these. Just replaced the driver with the Taylormade M2 but nothing wrong with the stock driver. I also added a Taylormade sand wedge and a 64degree callaway. I would recommend this set for a beginner or even intermediate golfer. Also I did shorten the putter to 33 inches as im only 5โ6โ. And changed grip, much better now.

Definitely an excellent starter set
The first set of golf clubs that belongs to me, hits as well, if not better, than the other golf clubs that I've used, and all for under C$200. The driver does curve to the right quite a lot, but I'm 99% sure that's just me... Highly recommend it as a starter set or backup, can't go wrong with the price.

Great clubs at a great price
I wanted a new set of clubs as I just started golfing. I didn't want to spend more than $200 for clubs, so I'm glad these came in at $171. These are great clubs - they have decent weight. The grips feel weird...kind of sticky and weird feeling. That's not really a concern for me because I plan on having them regripped. The bag is really cheap. It's more of a beginners bag, I assume. I have a better bag that I intend to use.
