Great for any small buffing/polishing job.
I bought this for buffing clear coat on guitars, and it works great. If you are thinking of using this to buff a whole car or anything more than a bumper or such, then you will need to spend more money and get something more powerful I think.

I bought this not knowing how to use it. It is very easy to use I did my car today and it took very little time, and it looks great. Next I'm going to do my truck, I would recommend buying this to anybody I'm also going to look for a 6 " because the 10in is hard to get in some of the small places. If you're thinking about buying a buffer polisher I would recommend doing it.

B&D 6" polisher
This tool is definitely not heavy duty, but it has worked when I wanted it to,does a good job,and the cost was low. I've used it half a dozen times and I think I have gotten my moneys worth.

Git 'er done for less
I bought this unit to replace a defective comparable Ryobi and must say it works better, has less vibration and does the job. I prefer this size buffer in order to do the two handed wax approach. One hand with the polisher, the other squeezing out the liquid Mother's Carunuba which allows for a quicker job. Two thumbs way up for the B&D unit displayed here. Two thumbs way DOWN for the fragile comparable Ryobi unit. FYI

Don’t waste your money or your time!
This is, bar none, by far the worst power tool I ever bought in my life. This orbital buffer died within 20 minutes the first time I used it. I was buffing a polished aluminum surface when it made a popping sound, emitted a puff of white smoke, and tripped the 20 amp breaker for the circuit it was plugged into. I reset the breaker and tried turning the buffer back on. It never made another sound but did immediately trip the breaker again. When I contacted Black and Decker about warranty service, they told me that they do not handle warranty issues on this model and referred me to Baccaus International. I will say that Baccaus responded promptly with a replacement buffer, although I was out $22 for return shipping of the failed unit; that’s more than half the cost of the original buffer. I used the replacement buffer for the first time today with dismal results. I had been buffing the same polished aluminum surface no more than 20 minutes when the buffer began to lose power and make a lot of noise. It lost power quickly and failed to produce enough torque to even spin the buffer pad. I promptly turned the buffer off when I smelled something burning and saw white smoke pouring from the motor vents. I am a retired electrician and am very familiar with motor operations and torque limitations. I understand that this is a light weight buffer motor and is not designed for heavy polishing or compounding. I therefore refrained from applying any pressure to this unit while in use, letting it operate under only the pressure of its own weight. It was certainly not over-worked. I have owned several Black and Decker electrical tools in my 73 years and have gotten good service from them in the past. This exceedingly inferior, poorly built buffer, however, may be the last Black and Decker tool I will ever own.

It's great
I remember reading some complaints before I bought this but it's a great product. I used it to remove oxidation on my car. You can wax a car by hand but why? This will save your shoulder from a lot of pain. If you press down too hard on the car's surface you can burn the paint and burn out the motor on the buffer. Apply light pressure and there are no problems.

Great for the beginner
This is my first time with a buffer/polisher, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. It does ok, a lot better than doing it by hand; but it's not all that great either. I have a fairly large truck, so I needed a big buffer; but most people(car owners especially) should look for one small than 10 inches. The package was opened, however it hadn't been used or used very much. The Styrofoam disk is kinda keep and not interchangeable, so you'll need to stock up on bonnets. I've used it twice now and it's got the job done, but would definitely would not recommend it to someone who wants a serous buffer/polisher. Pros; -Cheap -Easy to use design -Fast Shipping -Quite Cons; -Cheap -Doesn't feel like it's really 3000 RPM -Kinda of hard to get into tight places Bottom Line; You get what you pay for. I needed it to buff out a few scratches. I would say it's great for waxing or polishing, but if your need to do heavy work, pass on this one.

Black & Decker 6" Polisher
This is the first time that I have used an electric polisher. This one seems to be a very good quality unit at a very good price. I used it with the Chicago Power Tools 6" Waxers Bonnet Set, the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and the Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. I'm glad that I got this.

Does not Last long.
Polished one car, died on the last panel, loud clunking sound. Not worth the money.
