This rough and bumpy lotion is something I picked up because I struggle with keratosis pilaris on my arms, collarbone, rear, and upper thighs, and it can be really persistent and frustrating to manage. I had heard good things about this formula in particular and wanted to see if it would actually make a difference in my routine. The texture is very thick and slightly sticky, and it definitely leaves a tacky feeling if it is applied to completely dry skin. I found it works much better when applied right after a shower while the skin is still damp, since it spreads more easily and absorbs more comfortably that way. It is not a “lightweight” lotion by any means, but that is also part of what makes it effective for this type of concern. Looking at the ingredient list, this is very much an exfoliating and barrier-supporting body treatment rather than a basic moisturizer. It contains a mix of chemical exfoliants like gluconolactone (a gentle PHA), ammonium lactate (lactic acid derivative), and salicylic acid, which together help smooth rough texture and loosen the buildup that contributes to KP. It also includes moisturizing and soothing ingredients like urea derivatives, shea butter, petrolatum, aloe, panthenol, and bisabolol to help counterbalance the exfoliation and reduce irritation. The overall formula is doing a lot of “work” at once: exfoliating, hydrating, and sealing moisture in. In terms of results, I’m not completely bump-free, but there is a noticeable improvement in texture and smoothness, enough that I wish I had taken before-and-after photos because I think it would have shown up clearly. It feels like a product that needs consistent use, but it is actually moving the needle for me, which is not always the case with KP treatments. Price at time of review: $11.97

I am absolutely thrilled with this cream. I had these really annoying, rough bumps on my elbows for the longest time, and this product was an absolute lifesaver. You must apply it on clean skin at night. Also, it is extremely important to wear sunscreen the next day because this cream contains exfoliating ingredients that make your skin more sensitive to the sun. It completely cleared all the bumps in no time, and as a huge plus, it actually helped lighten the skin in that area too. My elbows look so smooth and even now. Without a doubt, I will be buying it again.

I have not been diagnosed with any skin issue. I noticed some bumps on my arms and legs that became slightly painful when I use my loofah in the shower. I decided to try Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy skin cream and after one single application my bumps went way down and are now almost completely gone. The moisturizer lasts a long time, I don’t even need to use it every day for my skin to feel soft. I noticed that other reviewers called this an exfoliate and said they had to wash it off after several hours. It does not say that on the label and I did not feel the need to wash it off. It absorbs nicely and leaves my skin very soft and smooth. I have almost used the entire jar and will be buying more!

it works ! i’ve always gotten ingrowns and bumps behind my thighs within 2 days of shaving, but never thought to try a cream until now. the back of my legs have never been this smooth and i’m almost a week post shave. i’m giving it a 4 out of 5 because i’m not a fan of how it feels on my skin. it leaves sort of a sticky feeling. but other than that i’m grateful for the results.

My dermatologist recommended this product by name, and he was right! I love that it has helped get my dry, cracked skin on my hands to be smoother and never bleed again. I use it a few times a day, but if I forget, my skin is a mess again. That is my proof that it is working on my dry patches. It has no fragrance, it absorbs very quickly, and it is a life-saver. The jar is huge, and I don't think I'll ever go through it all in my lifetime! I only use a small amount, rub it a few minutes (it has exfoliators), and off I go. I am very happy, and call it an excellent value for the money, and I will tell all my friends to buy it!

I originally purchased this at Walmart but I already ordered a second jar so this review would have a verified purchase designation. First let me state, I absolutely despise putting stuff on my skin. Lotion, sun block, many liquid soaps all give me a disgusting feeling of grease no matter how much they claim to be non-greasy. Something I didn't know about this product is it's non-greasy. I bought it expecting to hate the feeling but trust in the Gold Bond brand that it works. The biggest surprise is that it is TRULY non-greasy. This fact will make it a million times easier to keep up long term usage. On to the product itself. This really works. From the immediate application there is a noticeable decrease in the visibility of bumps on my arms. I've had them for over 20 years, it's very easy for me to tell if there's a change. I've now used the cream for almost a week. The bumps are starting to go away. They are much less visible and are thinning out. I apply the cream about an hour or two before bed and let it soak in. I'll place a towel on the chair I'm sitting on to keep it from rubbing off into furniture. Each morning I see there is long term improvement. I will update this review after one full month of usage. As of the end of week 1 I have never been more thrilled in a "beauty product". I honestly expected to buy it and throw it out within days, instead I've already ordered more and haven't even used half a jar. I expect from usage that a jar will last two to three weeks of consistent daily application when covering elbow to neck on an adult male. If you apply more than once per day expect jars consumed in a week or two. If you only use a tiny bit such as elbows and knees only a jar should easily last a month or two. Edit: 5/28 end of the first jar update. There has been a consistent improvement with this product. In the approximate 3 weeks of usage I missed a couple of days but finished my first jar today. While the bumps haven't been eliminated they are far less in quantity and much less noticable. I have high hopes for the results of two whole jars of product. Will update after the next jar. Edit: 6/16 end of the second jar update. Still using this product nearly every day. Seems to be a fairly consistent 3 week consumption rate. Continued improvement. Dominant arm has responded much more clearly than the other, not sure if there was ever a difference to start with. Already received third jar. Optimistic about continued improvement that will be seen by the end of the third jar. Other thoughts, any reviews less than 5 stars on this product greatly irritate me. This product truly works. That's the measure. People finding ridiculous things to complain about to justify removing a star or two are whiners. This product is 6 stars out of 5. Edit: 7/24 end of third jar update. Progress has become much slower. Switched treatment from once nightly to in morning and at night. Doubling the application seems to have continued the trend of reduction in bumps. Nondominant arm still further away from results on the other arm. Once again possible it was always different and unnoticed. Bought 4th and 5th jar. Next update might come after the 5th jar.

Works really well for softening hard calloused skin, BUT if you have cracks or cuts it BURNS like a mf’r. The tub is a pain in the butt to use. How are you supposed to put the lid back on with slippery lotioned up hands? It dries out if you forget, by the way. Used 2-3 times a day it definitely helps soften my hands and keep me from getting splits and cracks. However I have found the o’keefes doesn’t burn and is similar in effect, although must be reapplied more often to maintain moisture. I keep this around the house and use it after I wash my hands and etc but I carry the o keefe’s with me.

Es funktioniert. Ich habe mein Leben lang am Po und an den Beinen rote Punkte, teilweise Pickelchen, Probleme mit super empfindlicher Haut nach dem Rasieren, eingewachsene Haare, Haarentfernung war eine Qual. Diese Creme hat zwar Silikonöl drin, was ich sonst immer vermeide, aber die Inhaltsstoffe sind viel sinniger als Amlactin, was ja auch gegen Keratinosis pilaris helfen soll, aber nur viel Milchsäure enthält. Gold Bond Rough and Bumpy hat viel Shea Butter drin, und verschiedene Säuren. Es ist also eine Art chemisches Peeling mit starker Feuchtigkeitspflege dabei. Es riecht mir nicht unangenehm, eher ein bisschen nach Rosinen. Es enthält keine Duftstoffe! Das ist echt super bei meiner empfindlichen Haut. Man braucht nicht viel, das Hautgefühl ist nach dem gründlichen Auftragen schon ein bisschen sticky, aber bei Berührung super zart (Silikonöl eben). Ich habe es gestern Abend vorm Schlafengehen benutzt, es kribbelt ein bisschen nach dem Auftrag, aber das lässt schnell nach und ich habe super zarte Haut nach dem Aufwachen gehabt, die Rumpelecken sind viel glatter. Irre. Auch eben nach dem Rasieren hat es meine Haut super vertragen, normalerweise geht da gar nix ohne Brennen und Rasurbrand. Rote Stellen lassen wirklich nach. Ich benutze es jetzt mal ein paar Wochen zweimal täglich und melde mich zurück. Wäre nur echt gut, wenn es nicht so ein Riegel wäre, aber so kann man eben auch wirklich alles aufbrauchen. Ich bin Privatkäuferin und bekomme kein Geld für diese Rezension. Ich wünschte, ich könnte diese Creme im Handel kaufen, wie in den USA und England...

Llevo 3 días usando la crema y estoy realmente sorprendida, tengo eczema y la estoy usando solamente en las zonas donde tengo la piel muy reseca y mucha comezón. La textura de mi piel ha mejorado notablemente y me ha disminuido la comezón, la estoy usando 3 a 4 veces al día. Estoy esperanzada.

Je suis très stupaifaite de la qualité ! Il m a en quelques jours régler bon nombres de problèmes. Ce serait intéressant de voir plus de produits de cette marque sur Amazon France parce que je lis sur internet et j en vois que du bien. Je ne peux que pleinement le recommander. Happy !!

Sto usando questa crema da 4 giorni, e devo dire che la differenza già si sente: ho la cheratosi pilare e ho deciso che sul braccio destro metto questa crema, mentre sul sinistro ne metto un'altra (di un'altra marca famosa per questo problema) per vedere se vale la pena spendere qualche euro in più, e la risposta è sì. Sento la differenza nella morbidezza della pelle e anche nei "brufoletti" causati da questa malattia, quindi sicuramente la comprerò ancora! L'unica pecca è che la devono inviare dall'Inghilterra quindi ci mette un po' di giorni ad arrivare. L'odore all'inizio non mi piaceva molto, poi in realtà mi sono abituata e ora mi piace pure: sa di arancia e zenzero, e qualche altra spezia che non riesco a intuire. Consiglio di metterla la sera o di lasicarla asciugare qualche minuto prima di mettere i vestiti perché è comunque una crema idratante.
