I'll just add my comments to the general chorus of approval. After reading the other reviews, I was meticulous about following the instructions and had no bad experiences, nevertheless I may have marginally over-diluted the first coat (a splash too much alcohol), but it set without any problems. As others have said, they possibly over-estimate the coverage, it'd be very difficult I think to spread it thinly enough to make the 60 sq feet they claim, though in their defence they do include a sort of depth gauge to help with that. The area I had to cover, the base of an ornamental fountain was much less than that, around 30 sq ft, and that used up virtually the whole batch, although admittedly it ended up probably more thickly-coated than the recommendation and there was some excess which I pushed up the side walls. Also, I'd guess that most people will need to follow the instructions for 'rough' surfaces, possibly the only surface that would qualify as smooth would be some sort of polished stone or tile, my surface was very smooth concrete and even that seemed to limit the spreadability a little. But having said that, it's not particularly hard to work with, I used an old brush and that was able to push the stuff around, I was working on a flat surface so I just poured out a small amount then used the brush to spread it. The key is to work in manageable sections, don't mix too much at a time, but you can still cover a biggish flat area in the 30 minutes or so you have before the coating starts to set. I did my job with 2 separate mixes, but I reckon I could've done it with one. Fully coating more varied or uneven surfaces might be problematic, I think it could be done though, you'd just need to be even more careful about the amount you mix up. And in those cases you'd definitely need 2 coats - it'd be easy to miss nooks and crannies and any little air bubbles in the mixture seem to end up creating tiny spots that could need touching up on a thin coat. I got away with the need for that as my single coat ended up so thick! You need to be careful to avoid putting it where you don't want it, wiping it off is not easy - some drops I thought I'd adequately cleaned turned out to be still there, but one advantage of it being so thick is that it's hard to splash around, my downfall was once dropping the brush (doh!) and also having the stuff on my fingers and being forgetful what I touched. I got the worst of it off my hands with alcohol, but disposable latex gloves would have been a better way to work probably. The finish when set is shiny and tough, very slightly opaque (though that may have been a result of the extra thickness of the coat) and looks great either under water or out of it. It's not cheap, but in the end it did exactly what I wanted and I have every confidence it will last, I'd already wasted money and time on other products that weren't as good, so really had I used this stuff first, it would've been the most economical option.

I can't say enough good things about this product. I had an 18-inch hairline crack in my large (50-gallon) fountain. It was leaking like a sieve. I first put a layer of JB Weld epoxy to fill the crack. After that cured, I covered the entire basin with Clear Pond Armor. It was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Followed the instructions exactly. Took less than an hour. It dries clear, just looks wet all the time. Only used half the quantity. It's been a few months now. No more leaks. Plus, I have no moss buildup like I used to get. I think it sealed the plaster pores that the moss clung to.

I have a medium-sized water feature (concrete) that was beginning to lose it's original weathered blue-grey color from the periodic draining & scrubbing I would do several times each year. Cleaning was difficult because of so many nooks and crannies to clean algae from. I decided to purchase this stuff in the clear formula to protect the remaining color and make cleaning easier. It worked very well and has given my fountain a thick protective coating which will make cleaning much easier and help to preserve the color. From my experience, these are a few tips I would recommend: Measuring & mixing up a quarter of a batch each time instead of half as the directions recommend. I have a two tiered fountain with lions heads and a third level as the base that sits on the ground. I decided to put a coating, not only on the inside, but on the outside as well to protect the concrete and maintain the original color. There is quite a bit of detail design to paint, and I found that I ran out of time and wasted a good amount of the first batch, which was half of the kit per instructions. You have about 1/2 hour or slightly less before this stuff starts turning to a stiff (hot) gel, so unless you have a larger, less obstructed areas to paint, mix smaller batches. Have an inexpensive paint brush for EACH coating and plan on trashing the brush after each use. The foam applicators don't work well, because this epoxy is very thick and heavy when mixed, and the foam isn't sturdy enough to stay rigid with the application. Think wet noodle. Whatever you do, wear some latex painter's gloves. This stuff is so sticky, and it will find a way to get on your hands. The directions say to apply the next coating when the first is still tacky, but if you allow it to fully dry, you need to sand. I didn't have that option, because it seemed as though monsoon season moved in when I started this project. Each afternoon would cloud up, so I would have to cover the fountain and wait until the next day. The application would be fully dry by the time I applied the next coating. Personally, I didn't sand and had no problem I was pleased with the outcome of using Pond Shield. Because I decided to paint the outer portion of my fountain, it does look shiny now. Originally, I wasn't sure if I would like that look, but it turned out really well. The glossy finish of this product brings out the color of your water feature, and it also makes it look "wet" all the time.

I just applied it to my cement pond so this is about the application itself: 1. The hardest part is getting the bloody plastic ring off the can. You will know what I mean 2. Just mix as directed: 2 cups A, 1 cup B, 1/4 cup alcohol. Mixed easily. Don't know what all the fuzz is about. I bought some small containers and spatula from dollar store. Mark the container so you know how much to pour in. This is the amount that was easy to handle. 3. I just used a cheap Home Depot brush. Went on easily. You have more than 20 minutes. But my ambiance temp is about 55 F. Probably have less time if it is warmer out. 4. Wear protective gloves and your work coverall. Protect areas around it. There is no way to remove any stains. My handyman husband gives this 2 thumb's up. Took several applications and time in between to dry but no leaks. I was worried that I would have to have that black plastic epoxy stuff so finding one that was truly clear was amazing. This fixed all the small and large cracks as well as the big hole from where the inside center tube broke off in my large 2 tiered acrylic/plastic outdoor water fountain after it got dropped. I was so sad. I loved that fountain and didn’t think it could be saved, but this worked great. My only complaint is that it dries super shiny. That was fine for the part that holds the water, but not so much for the top rim. So, I added a second thin coat around the top rim and sprinkled on some sand. It doesn’t look like it used to, of course, but it looks great and it doesn’t leak. Mix in smaller quantities and build up. It would help to have an adult that can mix while you apply. I did both by myself. It worked, but I wasted half of this because I thought I’d need more than I really needed. It also dries pretty fast ( on the summer day that I used it).

I ordered this to use in my bearded dragons enclosure that my husband built. It’s a bit intimidating the first time you use it. We used it in a 4x2x2 (120 gallons) enclosure and mixed enough to cover all 3 sides and the floor, as well as the wood on top we added to attach the lights. We still had a bit more left in the cans, honestly I could’ve used another layer of this but it’s covered pretty well aside from some small dots here and there. Make sure to work fast though, because it’ll dry quick! I wish I it were more affordable, I would’ve bought more to do another layer. But the materials we used was already safe, this was more of a precaution, better safe than sorry situation lol. I wish it was cheaper.. honestly I would’ve used something cheaper, but this was the only product I could use without having to wait weeks to be able to put my bearded dragon in it.

I purchased the clear version of the product. It is a sticky mess to work with, but I needed something non toxic for sealing the inside of my bird bath. I think it did a good job of making it water tight, but within a couple of days it yellowed, and so it it doesn't look at all like I expected. I sprinkled some river rock pebbles over the bottom to cover up the yellow, but I am pretty much disappointed that it did not stay clear.

The membrane of this product is outstanding, before Io used this product, it ha water leaks, after using this product, magic, no more water leaks! the cost was on the high side, but definitely worth it

Arrived damaged and one pot had leaked into the box but there was enough left for what we needed fortunately. Was a little tricky to work out the different mixes we needed for each coat but was easy to apply and worked well. We coated 2 metal containers we are using as water features and so far it's doing a great job. Would recommend although it is expensive.

Premeasured was a nice surprise. Easy to work with...I did put product in to slow down the whole process. Without a doubt I would buy this again.

Like all 2 part systems it's a bit of a pain to work with but it worked well and looks great. Time will tell how long it lasts.
