Excellent Product but Be Wary
I tried ordering this product from Amazon twice and both times the product arrived dried up / hard - not as paint. I reached out directly to the manufacturer (in Nevada). The product they shipped me was in perfect condition and worked great! I used this on a rusted bathroom ceiling fan housing - not the fan itself but what you see when looking up at the fan. I found the product easy to apply (it was a bit thinner than a latex paint, but was not runny) and the odor was no where near as bad as some people described - no worse than an oil stain. I applied 3 thin coats and will wait 24 hours and will then apply a white semi gloss latex paint that matches the trim in the bathroom. I suspect you will be unable to reuse any leftover paint - to get the lid off I mangled it and if you donโt get an airtight seal, it will harden up. Itโs easy to see how this product suffocates rust - it essentially dries more as a rubber coating than as typical paint. It is smooth and does look like paint, so top coating as I am doing is not necessary.

Makes a durable skin.
So far seems pretty good. I used it to paint an aluminum truck toolbox black. Following instructions is important but so far it is better than anything else I have seen.

Good results but difficult to work with (Updated)
Initial review (update at the end): This is my first time using Rust Bullet and I am pleased with the results so it won't be my last... BUT... It's difficult to work with. It is extremely tacky and begins skinning almost immediately. At first I thought they might have sent me an expired quart because as soon as I opened it, it began to expand into a thick foamy mess that started to spill out the top of the can, but I quickly went ahead and poured some out, mixed in a bit of solvent, loaded it up and went to spraying. The results... Really really good. I sanded using the suggested 80 grit and did 6 coats, the adhesion and hardness is amazing. The color options (white/black) do mostly limit it as an industrial paint as even though you can add a different top-coat the Rustbullet makes for a super solid top-coat. UPDATE (08-25-24) I've been repainting a bunch of jobsite boxes using this stuff so I thought I might expand on my review. Even though the results were good for the initial quart I ordered, I do think that first quart was past its expiration date as the paint I've ordered since has been of typical viscosity, hasn't foamed-up/skinned and has been easy to work with. A hardner is probably rarely warranted with this paint as after 24 hours it seems around 70% cured and by 48 hours it is 90% cured and is rock-solid. But with that said this product does not store wiell and should be used immediately after opening; I've been using the pint-sized to spray the jobsite boxes (spraying 5:3) and doing ~5 coats on ~25 sq feet before it's been depleted.

Tough like powder coat finish
Expensive but worth it used on a 12โ open trailer and did some wire wheeling light sanding and prep work to the frame after taking old wood bed off and this rust bullet black shell did the trick applys easily with a 2โ brush 2coats did cover quite a bit of area when dry looks like a powder coat finish did the project outside to have good airflow would recommend this for a dyi fix to any old steel frames

Product good. Packaging SUCKS!
Top of can got destroyed trying to get it off. Looks like top was made to be destroyed taking it off. In the past when using this product it seems I could use a little and seal can top back on. Not anymore. how long has can top been like this? I know product is very sensitive to air, and probably should use entire can at one sitting, but come on. I will be looking at packaging for corrosion preventive coatings next time I buy (won't be Rust Bullet).

Durable, sticks to just about anything, rust protection.
This coating is the toughest rust-proofing and metal protection I have used. Wear gloves when applying it because it is hard to remove. I have a project car from the 70s, and any bare metal rusts fast. I keep a tin of this on hand to cover weak spots, and so far it has held up well. The finish is durable, almost like epoxy. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth it since you do not need to keep reapplying. It is basically a one-and-done coating, which makes it a solid value.

Wrought Iron Railing Paint
I was lookn for some good paint that I can apply to my railings. Didnt want Lowes OR Home Depot paint cause theirs doesn't last long. So I searched internet and found this Rust Bullet paint. Never heard of it. Never used it. After reading the good / bad reviews online, I decided to give it a shot. I bought the quart can. Cleaned railings and applied this product. 24 hrs later ( right now ) im writing this and lookin at the railings. They are dry. They are covered. The paint is hard ( like a shell ) It didn't take 48-72 hours to dry like can said and it did not shine super high gloss like can said. Which im happy its not super shiny gloss cause my neighbors all have flat black railings also in condo. But yes...... I definitley will use this again. It works. Im happy with it. No issues. No bad smell either.
