It's the right product for the job
I purchased this kit two weeks ago and I am glad that I did. The assembly took only a few minutes and I found that it does protect my young tree in heavy winds. The length of each leg is adjustable to the ring can sit parallel when the tree is planted on uneven terrain. As a bonus, this kit will also support my tree watering bag by using plastic zip ties attached to the ring and the loops on the watering bag. Unfortunately, the Amazon web site says the product is no longer available, but I plan to buy another one when it returns. The pictures show how the kit can support a tree watering bag. I just purchased and received a second Staking Kit. The design is excellent with three telescoping legs, the kit can rest on very uneven grouns and still provide excellent support for a tree.

Tree support that works!
I bought 5 of these for one year old loblolly trees. The trees have been through 4 ice storms that caused the tops of the trees to touch the ground with weight. Amazingly the trunks did not break but in time will. The stakes and cords that the landscaper installed were ineffective because they were too low and the Oklahoma wind caused the cords to slide down with the trees sway. The Kradl system seems perfect. I assembled them in heavy rain before the temps dropped again and they snap together effortlessly. I extended the "outriggers" the entire length so the trees are supported very high up. The stakes are curvy and really stay in place at an angle. The structure is sturdy and looks more like a permanent structure than a tree support. There is no way the trees can be pulled down now. The only trouble I had was locking the twist band that holds the telescoping legs. It kept turning (in the lock direction) without stop. I simply wrapped a short piece of black gorilla tape around the twist band to prevent slippage. No big deal. I consider the Kradl a value that can be reused. Great idea!

Won't last more than one season
Easy enough to use. Slide to length rotate to tighten, snap into ring and stake into ground. After year one I pulled these to use on other trees. The sliding mechanism was jammed. Most likely the cam that tightens them is stuck. A bit of lube spray might help but of the 12 legs from 4 kits I could only get 6 freed up. An autopsy shows that rain makes its way into the top of the leg and corrodes the top of the tube. This leads to rust jacking which jams the slider cam in place. Had they a 5 cent silicone or rubber seal at the top of leg where the connector is this would have likely prevented the issue. Other thing I might have done would be to put a grease zert on the bottom side of the top of the leg and fill the top of the leg with grease. This would slow done or prevent an water intrusion and rust jacking. A nice idea but not reusable over any length of time with some modification. At this price point I won't purchase any more

Not for Patio, Ornamental or Rose Trees
I'm sure this is a great item for taller trees. I purchased to use on a very mature 4 foot tall Rose Tree. The Kradl was way too tall even at the shortest adjustment. Can only be used on tall trees like maples, etc. Do not buy for anything 5 foot and under. Not for patio, ornamental or rose trees. Wish they would make different sizes and one more suitable for these types of trees. Item was packed well with good instructions and seems to be well made, although I do think the round brace/bracket itself is way too large - allows too much movement in high winds.

Can be used to stabilize a bird feeder!
I actually used this product for a completely different purpose than it was designed for. I have a metal bird feeder system with a tall pole from which several relatively heavy feeders hang. My problem was when the wind would blow heavily, it would cause the pole (and hence the feeders) to sway a lot. Since the bird feeder was so top heavy, the swaying of the whole system finally caused the pole to buckle and bend way over. Fortunately it did not break. The pole is only anchored at the ground, and I had previously added a second anchor system but to no avail. The wind would still cause the pole to sway. One possibility would have been to try a heavier pole, and/or to anchor the pole into concrete in the ground. Instead, I decided to try this product meant for trees as a simple and easy solution to my problem. So far, it has worked like a charm! I am not a physics guru, but it had seemed to me that adding extra support halfway up the pole would really help stabilize the whole system, and it has. The one modification I made was to add something to pad the inside of the ring to keep the pole that much more stable (i.e., to give the pole virtually no wiggle room, literally). Not an elegant fix, but I used a 4-inch funnel with the small end cut off and placed upside down over the pole. It acted as a spacer and solved that problem. I covered the middle section with a black metal hood I had and slid it down the pole to cover the ring area. That was purely for aesthetics. Sorry if this sounds complicated... it really was not. It was cheaper and easier than a completely different solution. This product was exactly what I needed!

Easy to use and withstood severe winds
In the past week or so we planted a new tree in our backyard. We noticed it was starting to lean a bit so we decided we needed support. After comparing stakes and the kradl, we thought this looked not only easy to use but less harmful for the tree. Within 48 hours of installing this product, we had severe windstorms. I thought for sure this thing was going to go flying! It didn't though and is still standing and doing its job. It's only been a few weeks now, but so far it's been well worth the cost. Great product.

Sturdy and Well-Built - Great Product!
We planted a baby willow tree a year ago. We also live in an area that can get pretty windy and the winters can be a little rough at times. At first, I just put a stake in the ground and loosely tied the tree to the stake. This worked pretty well while it was still really small, but as it grew, I was in need of something that carry it through the rest of the way. This staking kit is sturdy, well-built, and gives plenty of room for the tree to grow independently while giving it support in times of strong winds. This works perfectly for us!

Great idea but.....
I like how it looks. It's a lot better than the wooden make shift stakes the builder supplies for your tree. I have a brick border around my tree so now I can evenly. They hold up well in high winds when they work. The problem is getting them tight. If you over tighten just a little you will ruin it. Now I have one of the legs that won't tighten which makes it useless. Also the ring won't clip closed anymore. I installed it and it worked perfectly but had to remove because my tree died and when I went to reinstall it on the new tree, it wasn't the same... unless Kradle send me a new one I wouldn't recommend..
