Does what it says
This review is for the CAMVATE Mini-Ball-Head Light Stand Mount for Monitor/LED Light. I'm using mine to hold a small 4" x 6" LED soft light over a soft photo cube. It is mounted on a not-expensive standard boom mic stand and it works perfectly. The design is very clever and strong and keeps my LED light exactly exactly where I want it. I'm a happy camper!

Strong yet Lightweight
Camvate light stand mount provides strength using aluminum and plastic construction. Pros - Reasonable costs - Strong metal at joints for bending and turning needs Cons - Plastic at knobs and 1/4 20 turn plate mount doesn't impact performance.

Well made and quite useful but sometimes hard to make minor adjustments in one axis.

The unit was strong and well made.
I like this little unit I put it on my light stand and hook a projector to it and I can raise and lower angles , it works really well.

This barely has any holding power, has a pretty rough fit and finish. Suffient for holding a light weight accessory or a small camera like a gopro. Struggles to hold my phone in its plastic 1/4 20 mount at extreme angles. Very rough feeling to the ball joint, you can feel it catch in certain orientations. Would not buy again.

If your questioning if you need this or not, or if you wonder “how many times/uses will I get from it”, you need this. This has so many uses and you will use it more than you’d imagine. Made a strong lightweight metal. Will buy more.

It's alright, the joints could be a lot tighter
I think the clamp is fine for use with more lightweight objects, but heavier objects can push the limit of the ball joint's capability to stay in place, especially if it is mounted horizontally. The good thing is that you can separate the mount into two pieces as well.
