Review: The Best D3 Book - True High-Dose Vitamin D Therapy by Tiago Henriques is the BEST of the five books that I have read related to D3. For two years, I took 1,000 IUs of D3 daily without any problems. (That's a very low dose of D3.) But then I started getting strange symptoms: tightness, aching, tingling and weakness in my quads; stiff, aching lower back; extreme, overall weakness; and feeling angry and having constant angry thoughts. I was UNHAPPY. I suffered like that for a year before I ran out of D3 for a few days and started feeling better. I later learned that I am one of a small percentage who is very sensitive to D3 processes. I quit D3 for several years. But then I started getting other symptoms that result from growing older and being chronically D3 deficient: insomnia; arthritis; brain fog; low energy; lack of motivation. I would start D3 again and get the D3 side effects, so I would stop D3 and get the low D3 symptoms. Finally, I discovered Henriques' book and learned SPECIFICALLY how our bodies process D3 and how that process involves other vitamins, minerals, and hormones. D3 cannot be taken alone. We need other nutrients that work together with D3; like the cogs in a clock. A clock doesn't work with just one cog; it takes several. If you want to learn the fascinating, intricate, chemical process of D3 that your body is capable of, and if you want to truly be educated and confident about this topic, read True High-Dose Vitamin D Therapy by Tiago Henriques. If I could go back in time, I would read the following three books related to D3 in this order: 1. True High-Dose Vitamin D Therapy by Tiago Henriques. 2. Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox by Kate Rheaume-Bleue. This book taught me that Vitamin A is also very important as a D3 cofactor, at least for me. 3. The Optimal Dose by Judson Somerville, MD. I learned why the RDA for D3 is so low and that a safe dose is much, much higher except for those like me who are sensitive to the D3 process. However, even though I am sensitive to D3, I was never in any danger from taking D3. I just developed side effects at very low doses. I am on my 3rd day of taking the following and I have no side effects (I usually get side effects within a half hour of taking D3): High-Dose D3 Vitamin A Beta Carotene Vitamin K2 MK4 Vitamin E (The natural form which costs more but is so worth it.) Magnesium Review: Worth its weight in gold - I have been taking 50,000 units of Vitamin D per day! Now into my third week feeling so much more vibrant, energetic, and healthier. I would not ever recommend doing this unless you are taking sufficient Vitamin K2 and are under a doctor's care because you could easily end up with hypercalcemia and get kidney stones after long-term use. However, there are many health benefits of high dosage therapy for an set time. The author goes into details of diseases cured by this wonder vitamin (which is not a vitamin, but a hormone). He goes into the interesting discovery of Vitamin D3 and how food manufacturers and restaurants were including large dosages in their foods. Hospitals were pretty much emptying out until the large Pharma stepped in. The author dives very deep into the biological chemistry, the synergistic effects between the different nutrients, and gives you recommended dosages for varying ailments. The best part of this book is that he gives the best and easiest analogies to help you understand everything he explains. I would certainly recommend this reading if you are exploring Vitamin D3 and K2 therapy.

If you want to try "true" high dose D you probably should get this book
I wouldn't want to be attempting really high dose vitamin D supplementing without this book. With the book I feel much safer. In the description there is a list of things you will learn by reading this book. One of them wasn't satisfactorily answered for me. How can I be sure true high-dose vitamin D therapy actually works? Other than MS being treated by Coimbra et. al. the examples given used dosing resulting in well under 100 ng/ml (250 nmol/L). This along with Jeff Bowles anecdotes in his book though are good enough for me but I was expecting more. It seems that both the author and Coimbra are confused about vitamin K2. Apparently Coimbra doesn't use K2 because he believes it can't be enough due to all the calcium being mobilized. Henriques worries that too much K2 could possibly put too much calcium into bones. They both fail to understand that you can't activate more than all of the K2 dependent enzymes made by your body. Once that happens you can add 100x more K2 with zero effect. There is no mention of why vitamin D exists. Vitamin D evolved over a hundred million years ago. It is a hormone. Hormones exist to cause the body to behave differently depending on circumstances. The purpose of vitamin D is to slow down body systems to help survive winter. People keep talking about vitamin D as if it was a nutrient. With nutrients less is bad because you use the nutrient for health. Vitamin D being a hormone is not used for any chemical reactions for health. It is a signal to conserve energy. If your blood level is below 60 ng/ml it signals your body to slow down. No need to fight a new patch of cancer when we can just wait until summer when there is more food and then kill it off. Today humans have blood levels well below the slow-down-the-immune-system point and it is that way for 365 days a year for their entire lives. Looking at it this way I don't understand why going way over 60 ng/ml would have any additional effect. Still, I am going to give it a try and I am glad to have this book.

really interesting reading
Goes into a lot of detail about vitamin D and several other supplements, their benefits, risks, and interactions— and does so in a way that is accessible to a lay person and easy to understand. This is actionable intelligence you can use to talk to your doctor, and maybe change your life. Big Pharma is a lot more interested in treating disease than in curing it, because they profit when you take drugs for the rest of your life. But our bodies know how to heal themselves, or never get sick in the first place, if we give them the right fuel and use them as they were designed to be used. This information helps us do that.

The interaction of the K vitamins, the D and Calcium.
This book is a must read for everyone taking vitamin K2. I started taking K2 about 2 years ago. The product I am taking also includes K1. I was thrilled when my bones went back to normal but hat I also noticed was that my vita D turned out too low plus my Blood clotted too slow. From this book I learned why these things are happen and I learned how to fix my situation. Very well written. Don’t think there is another book out there which addresses how Vita K, D and calcium works together plus addressing the dangers that can happen by dosing incorrectly. As a bonus I would say, this book also lists and explains the optimal blood test readings. I just bought another copy to give away to a friend. It’s a must read.

marvellous book, but some problem in the kindle version
good book!! but: -Appendix not available - it is not posible to acces chapter por chapter, when using "go to": in a normal kindle book, it is possible to seek any part of the book with a button "go to"... but not in yours. in a novel , no problem.. but in a science book, we often have to go back and forth. without the "go to" refering to emplacement (chapter 1, chapter 2, appendix A, appendix B...), it s quite impossible.

A Revolutionary Approach to Autoimmune Wellness
As a healthcare professional constantly exploring innovative and effective treatments for chronic conditions, I found Tiago Henriques’ book to be a groundbreaking resource. This book delves deeply into Dr. Cicero Coimbra’s protocol, offering a beacon of hope for those battling autoimmune diseases. Henriques masterfully explains the science behind high doses of Vitamin D3 and its critical pairing with Vitamin K2, making complex biochemical mechanisms accessible and understandable. His detailed guidance on safely navigating high-dose Vitamin D3 therapy is meticulously laid out, ensuring readers are well-informed about potential risks and the importance of medical supervision. The inclusion of real-world testimonials and case studies not only adds a personal touch but also serves as empirical evidence of the protocol’s efficacy. This book does an excellent job of bridging the gap between clinical research and practical application, providing readers with the tools needed to engage with their health care providers about potentially life-altering treatments. For anyone searching for alternative approaches to manage or possibly even reverse autoimmune conditions, this book is an invaluable addition to your library. Henriques’s optimism and thorough research inspire confidence and offer a new perspective on disease management. Highly recommended for its insightful, well-researched content and its potential to change lives.
